04.01.2022 SHARE WITH US YOUR BEST ISOLATION MEMORY Government plans to ease restrictions for Queensland is great news and we dont doubt that it brings a lot of excitement and hope. While these easements and plans continue to progress, Blue Roo Theatre Company is remaining vigilant and informed across all restriction and public safety updates. Over the past 2 months the team here at Blue Roo have been continuing to plan and best prepare for exciting performances and projects to c...ome in future. Within these plans there has been a significant focus on continuing health and safety measures to ensure we maintain the most positive and safe experience for all participants, artists and staff. Even though we, like so many other arts organisations and companies across the world, have been affected by COVID19 we are extremely thankful for your ongoing support and commitment to the arts industry and disability representation and opportunities with the arts. Though isolation has been hard for some, its important we as a community take time to look at some of the good moments that we have been able to embrace. For example, Australias driveway dawn services to commemorate ANZAC Day or some suburbs weekly costume parades on bin night. To help spread some more positivity we would love for you to comment below some of your favourite isolation moments, whether youve participated in something or if youve seen something online thats brought a smile to your face, let us know in the comments below.
03.01.2022 **IMPORTANT INFORMATION** ---------- COVID 19 ------------- Hi everyone With the rapidly changing advice surrounding COVID 19 it is with some regret that the Blue Roo Theatre Company Management Committee, in collaboration with senior Centacare staff and the Blue Roo Artistic team, have made the decision to suspend all Blue Roo rehearsals and activities from the 20th of March through to the 30th of June.... Although the majority of Blue Roos weekly activities have significantly less than 100 people in any one space at a time, we at Blue Roo believe it is in the best interest of safety for our performers, staff, volunteers and community supporters that we err on the side of caution at this time. Despite rehearsals and public activities being postponed till June 30, please know that the Blue Roo Management and Artistic teams will still be working on planning and preparations for the next 6 to 12 months of events, programs and performances. Thank you to the Australian Government and Arts Queensland for their continued support and dedication to the creative arts industry in this time of uncertainty. Moving forward, all further information and updates will be provided as soon as soon as possible. We hope everyone stays safe during this time. Thank you, The BRTC Team
