25.01.2022 The u10s came up against a red hot Wests Bucaneers at St Lukes Oval in Concord. The Blue Tongues came out strong controlling the ball well and racking up 10+ phases with each touch of the ball. Wilbur "The Force" fired up and scored for The Blueys, with only some lapses in concentration and a little bit of Bucaneer luck seeing the score seem to get away from the Blue Mountains finest. This didnt dampen their spirits as they dug deep in a dour second half to earn the respect of the opposition and the crowd on hand. Some promising signs for this young tenacious group. Players Player was Cooper and Max received the coachs award which could have gone to anyone out there today!

25.01.2022 AWAY: U10 v Penrith 10:00am U11 v Norwest 11:00am U12 v Penrith 10:55am U14 v North Rocks 11:50am... Second to last game, give it heaps and good luck teams!

22.01.2022 U10s had a 3 way game against Norwest and Penrith. No idea how scores are kept in that affair but the kids all had a run in the first of many warmer days this year. Slow start against Norwest but the forwards, led by Cooper, brought the team back to life in a tough game against Penrith RSL. Connor received the Players Player award for a great game in his first crack at the half back position.

21.01.2022 As we all start to enjoy weekend mornings without travelling to the next rugby game, it's time to reflect and be thankful for the 2020 season we had as well as the outstanding organisations that stand by our club, our teams and kids to play one tough little sport called rugby. They rock. Where possible, return the love to these generous folks. They've got you covered.... Buying a larger car to haul the kids around Sorting out your green pool... Medicines to keep the family healthy Round of golf followed by a chicken schnitty burger Booking a future holiday Even hiring an absolutely massive crane See more

19.01.2022 To have great humans volunteering to coach and manage teams is absolutely key to the club ticking along. Other essential volunteers (and great humans) are everywhere like our team photographers (Vix and Kat) and our own junior player/refs (Fynn and Reihana) that were in full swing today at the last game of the season for the minis.

18.01.2022 Finally caught up with Brett Everingham to present him with his belated Life Member jacket. Blue Tongue for Life. Thank you from Everyone at the Blue Tongues.

18.01.2022 If you've not booked yet, get cracking!

16.01.2022 This Saturday...one last dance for the Minis (U6-U9) in 2020. Juniors have got two more.

16.01.2022 Last Saturday, each team got awarded their season trophies which are, as a tradition, hand crafted by these mighty club volunteers. These legends are making it an art form in the last 2 years, organising every personally named plaque, every new trophy and all the not so fun logistics of sticking it all together for presentation day. Massive thanks to the Ordes: Caroline (also our bean counter) and Sam (also the U7s coach)! Behind the scenes volunteers...

13.01.2022 The u14s travelled to North Rocks for their penultimate game of the season. The quality and competiveness of the game is not reflected in the 59-17 scoreline. The 14s put in possibly their best team performance of the season under tough conditions and with a number of players out. They should be proud of the progress they have made this season and of the spirit they showed on the field today. Despite things getting away in the second half they kept their heads up, stayed positive and played for each other! Thanks to North Rocks Junior Rugby Union Club for hosting the game today.

12.01.2022 A busy day for Rugby Meeting with 2 other Club Legends to Present them with the Clubman of the year award was proudly awarded to Dean Heke (Traveller Dean) and the President's award to Kyle McCarrigle. Thank you both for your dedication and continued commitment to our Rugby Club

12.01.2022 End of season it may be but we still had the privilege of hosting one last TryTime Rugby Camp for the year at Lapstone Oval. Great to have kids from other clubs attend also, Penrith RSL Junior Rugby Union Club and Hawkesbury Valley Junior Rugby Union. Next camp will likely be in January 2021

11.01.2022 Our own President, Leigh Dodds, has happily stepped up the last few weeks when the assigned Ref has not been able to make it to Lapstone. How handy is it to have a man with 30yrs+ of rugby under the belt officiating a junior game. By the looks of it, the engine room is still his favourite

10.01.2022 U11s had a great game today at Lapstone Oval against Hunters Hill. Gritty defence and endless effort but went down 29-7 with the score not a reflection of how close large periods of the game was. Archer got player of the day for being into absolutely everything - tackles, rucks, hard running.

09.01.2022 Welcome U11s Hunters Hill Junior Rugby Union to Lapstone Oval tomorrow. No canteen sorry but we will have free ice blocks to mark the warmest game day of the season Please remember to follow all Covid guidelines. ... Do your part to keep community sport on the field and all our players, officials and spectators safe. * Limit spectators to 1 person per player * Scan the QR codes on arrival to the ground * Maintain social distancing And importantly, have a great game of rugby. https://www.bluemountainsjuniorrugby.org.au/home-grown

08.01.2022 Under 14s played away today, losing 52 - 5 to Wahroonga. Tough game with a number of highlights for the Blueys. Unfortunately the lack of grading isnt allowing this team to show the great improvements they have made throughout the season.

08.01.2022 Tough day for the U14s going down 10-57 to Central Eastwood. Despite the scoreline the team demonstrated the resilience to get two second half tries and showed their dominance in the line out. Big thank you to Central Eastwood Rugby Club for making the trip to the mountains on fathers day.

08.01.2022 "A team becomes more than just a collection of people when a strong sense of mutual commitment creates synergy, thus generating performance greater than the sum of the performance of its individual members" They also have good fun doing it U9s on the weekend...

08.01.2022 HOME: U14 v Central Eastwood 12pm AWAY: U10 v Wests Buccaneers 11am... U11 v Dural 10:25am U12 v Central Eastwood 10:55am Good luck teams!

07.01.2022 Minis (U6-U9), off to HVJRU tomorrow!

07.01.2022 U12s played away against Wests Juniors, going down 33-5 on a very warm day. Playing a new team every week in an ungraded competition makes for a real challenge which the kids are relishing. 3 games to go in the season!

06.01.2022 U10s came up against a classy Penrith RSL Junior Rugby Union Club team today. Despite making some great breaks, they were down by 29 at half time. In the second half the teams swapped backlines and enjoyed playing against their team mates and playing with some new friends also. A great display of sportsmanship by both teams. Rugby....

06.01.2022 LAST GAME FOR MINIS!!!! Equal measure of and Remember, only one adult per player

06.01.2022 A Great moment today as Club President, being able to Present Life Membership to Blue Mountains Junior Rugby Club members to Ryno and Cheryl Carstens Congratulations to you both and well deserved.

05.01.2022 The U12s headed to Central Eastwood Rugby Club today, going down 31-14 in an incredible effort to punch well above their weight with an empty bench. Spirit, heart, passion and effort. What more can you ask from a team. Rugby is a tough sport. It breeds/demands mental and physical toughness but always with respect to the opposition for being willing to play the game as well. Whilst injured players are not something any sport likes to see, this photo sums up the respect of rugby by the opposition. Awesome.

04.01.2022 The U11s played against the Norwest Bulls today in yet another ripper of a rugby game between these two sides. It was a well earnt win by the Bulls, 26-10, but the bigger winner was rugby and all the kids earning each others respect yet again. No doubt the rivalry will continue in 2021 between these two teams of real character. Huge shout out to Tony, the coach at Norwest Bulls Junior Rugby Union Club seen here leading a Bulls rugby chant with both teams. Awesome stuff.

03.01.2022 A Blue Mountains rugby legend, Blue Tongues junior coach and now the seniors El Presidente!

03.01.2022 The Blue Tongues U8s having one last blast on Saturday to wrap up the 2020 season...and prepare for 2021 ;)

03.01.2022 After game photo of the U10s this morning? Nope. This is after the warm up, pre-match. Whilst they enjoyed the wet conditions, they were outplayed by a very good outfit from North Rocks.

02.01.2022 The U11s had an away game against Dural Sky today after both teams had their opposition forfeit. Huge thanks to Dural Rugby Club and Sydney Junior Rugby Union for helping get a game for the kids (and the Dads) organised. The team had a hard fought win, with no subs, and could of had a couple more tries if it wasnt for some great opposition defence on the goal line. Tully snapped player of the day for his own endless efforts on defence and attack.

01.01.2022 The u14s rounded out a tough season with a home win against Hunters Hill Junior Rugby Union 38-3. Both sides played entertaining expansive rugby and demonstrated grit and determination. A big thank you to Hunters Hill for making the trip to Lapstone Oval and to the teams for the mutual respect they showed each other at the end of the game.
