13.01.2022 BLU CRÜE - Meet Eli, one of our awesome Event Coordinators, and learn how she’s getting through COVID19... How do you maintain contact with your family and friends? I’m italian, so I have all my family and friends over there (and in Germany).... It’s hard being far from home in this unprecedented times, not being able to help and to stay close to family...but fortunately they are all healthy and at home and with all the technologies we have I’m able to talk to them every day using Whatsapp calls/Instagram etc... So, the glass half full is that now I have much time to spend with them at the phone! What do you miss being able to do the most since going into lockdown? I’ve started the lockdown before anybody else because I spent some time in NZ for holiday and when I came back I had to self isolate myself for 14 days and I was not allowed to go out, not even for food supplies or a walk. The first time I left home And went for a walk after that I had a huge feeling of being free: breathing fresh air and moving. In the past 5 years I’ve been working in the event industry as freelance, this means traveling a lot calling home different cities and countries, never being home that much, dealing with people all the time. So I’m really missing this, the routine-non-routine of my job! How are you staying active whilst at home? E.g. at home gym, online pilates classes. After what has been a deflating week in the world, we had the chance last night to celebrate a special moment for Damien Bugeja and Run For Joey Craigieburn to Yarrawonga... 290km... 6-days... in memory of his late father Joey... $55K raised for Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre... On weekends I have been trying to get out and go for a walk so I can get out of the house for a bit. I have also been trying to catch up on my reading and have been doing a lot of cooking to help pass the time. ... How much netflix do you think you have watched since going into lockdown on the weekend? Too much haha! I’m struggling to find a new TV show to watch on Netflix at the moment and am finding that I’ve just been going back and rewatching a lot of TV shows. What do you miss being able to do the most since going into lockdown? I really miss just being able to go and visit my friends and just sit around with them listening to music and having some wine.
