24.01.2022 FUN FACT FRIDAY! Did you know the flushing toilet was invented by Sir John Harrington in 1596, which is where the toilet gets its nickname the John. After being put in exile by Queen Elizabeth 1, Harrington built himself a house, which included the first flushing lavatory. When Queen Elizabeth visited him he showed her his invention. Apparently she even tried it and ordered one for herself! While Harrington built the first toilet, Thomas Crapper later increased the popularity of it. which led to the other popular nickname for the loo!

20.01.2022 Last week we welcomed new team member Mark.. and a few weeks before that, BWP farewelled another much-loved tradesman, Glenn. Pictured here with his wife at the BWP Christmas in July party, Glenn was often referred to as Yoda due to his out of this world plumbing knowledge! The BWP team were really sad to see him go, but after a whopping 40 years in the plumbing industry, we also think you deserve to enjoy a happy retirement!... BWP would like to thank you for being part of our team, for your service to the industry and for simply being an all-round great guy! Glenn is currently living in Robe spending time with family and friends and enjoying all the good things life has to offer. Happy fishing Glenn!

This special day, held on 11 March each year, aims to spread awareness of the importance of plumbing and plumbers in protecting public health and the environment. In Australia plumbing is a major part of our everyday routines. Having a shower, flushing the toilet and drinking water from a tap are all possible thanks to advances in plumbing and plumbers! It’s also good to remember that flushing a toilet or being able to turn on a tap, which m...ay feel like no big deal, is actually crucial to maintaining public health. Current stats show that: - 900 million school children across the world have no handwashing facilities, and - only 4 out of 10 people in the world have a toilet in their home! Clearly we still have a long way to go but recognising and celebrating #WorldPlumbingDay is definitely a good place to start.

Mark comes to us with over 20 years of experience in plumbing, and a wealth of skills and knowledge including general maintenance plumbing, renovations, drain maintenance and pipe relining! 10.01.2022 There’s all sorts of things you can do to upgrade your bathroom without committing to a full reno. In Jade’s case it was about starting with a new toilet suite to lift the feel and presentation of the space. 04.01.2022 Recently Quyen and Jordan got their Spider Man on to scale walls and repair a burst hot water tank. The burst had caused extensive damage to the ceiling in the two story block of units. Our team hooked up a temporary HWS to maintain the tenant’s access to hot water and then installed and commissioned a new Rheem 160L HWS at ground level. The next step was to isolate the feed to the old service and repair the water logged ceiling!... The result? Happy tenant, property manager and landlord!
