05.01.2022 Mornington Peninsula Shire Elections 2020 are fast approaching. Non resident ratepayers can vote if they are enrolled to vote on the Mornington Peninsula. But ...where the problem is here: Local election this year are stranger than usual because of #Covid-19 restrictions and local non-resident rate payers may experience barriers to access their ballot packs if their Shire mail and rate notice is sent to their Mornington Peninsula Shire address. The barrier to voting may arise if non resident voters cannot collect their ballot papers at their Mornington Peninsula address because of the 5km travel restrictions and reasons to leave your home under Covid-19 restrictions. Ballot packs for non-resident voters are sent to the same address as the Shire rate notices. If that address is on the Mornington Peninsula non-resident voters may not be able to access their ballot packs to cast their vote due to Covid-19 restrictions. In that case they will have to contact the VEC for a replacement pack 1300 122 917.
