25.01.2022 Traveller's Star. Also known as Cowboy's Star and Arkansas Traveler. Just finished the instructions for our latest die, and also a layout chart to make it easier to lay all the cut pieces onto that, place beside your sewing machine, to make it easier to piece in the right order. I am so thrilled with this, so many ways to arrange the quarters for such different effects. I am attaching the EQ samples I made. https://www.a1craftandquilting.com.au//travellers-star-636

25.01.2022 Made a few of these, so many shapes to cut from and so time saving.

25.01.2022 I am in the process of adding some dies that have been in the process for some time, and will send out a newsletter shortly. Here I have the Petals for Emma Jea...n Jansen's The Daisy Quilt. The link for the pattern is on my page, you purchase the pattern from her, it's instantly downloadable... get some eye candy while you look at her shop! We have a Soup Cosy, but I need to make one or two first for a photo! Also, with Christmas around the corner...sorry about reminding you... we have a Christmas Stocking coming up on the website, and don't forget the doll pattern by Sian. Just type in "Doll" in the search bar on the website. What a great handmade present for the little girls in your family, or even dress it up as a superhero, and its for everyone! See more

24.01.2022 We are adding more new blocks, I still haven't written the pattern for this, but it really is easy to assemble. Make the Nine patch, then sew the side edges on.... Simple! It is a very fast quilt to make, yet looks so complicated. I will make the pattern up in the next few days and have it available for free download on the page. Have a look again at our website! So many new dies. See more

24.01.2022 Check this out!

24.01.2022 I have made a page for people with all types of Fabric Cutters. I don't know how it wil go or grow, but I want people to share their photos of quilts made. I know there are loads of cutting die addicts out there. So play nice, Just share .. worldwide! https://www.facebook.com/pg/Diecuttingworldwide/posts/?ref=page_internal

22.01.2022 The new trays have arrived so we are finally getting our 10" x 15" dies onto the website... more will go over the next few days. This dribble cloth die means you can fold the fabric along the engraved lines and make a dribble cloth for gifts or sale quickly. Ideally, use one or two layers of flannelette.

22.01.2022 Another request completed and on its way!

22.01.2022 To all USA quilters. No problem with Australia or most other countries . At present, and pending resolution of a dispute with a US patent holder, sales of Blue Wren Fabric Cutting dies to the United States of America are suspended until further notice. This does not affect sales of our Blue Wren Cutting Mats, Templates, or all other items. This action does not affect Australia or other countries.... Thank you for your support. We believe in choice so this may not be final, just delayed. :(

21.01.2022 Just decided to check on our dies that haven't been seen too much, then I read that some die cutting quilters are looking for a 3" finished Half Square Triangle. Along with many shapes that others pay to have made as a custom die, we have them all as normal stock... if not, we will make it! Most are not one-off designs, so are available at any time. The mat is included folks! Share this with everyone that needs to know!

21.01.2022 Finally added a bigger die to cut charm squares. We have one on the smaller dies, suitable for smaller cutters, but this is for those with a bigger cutter, cutting two shapes at once... up to 6 layers, so 12 at a time!

20.01.2022 Yes we have masks dies. Two are different sizes of the Best fit mask and the other is newer, Kathy's mask is designed by a customer who used all the best bits of masks she found to come up with this pattern and it is so comfortable! https://www.a1craftandquilting.com.au/search

19.01.2022 Another new die... in fact we have added about 7 in the last week!

19.01.2022 This is our latest... and there are about 6 new dies I haven't even had time to let you know about...so click the photo and have a nosey!

19.01.2022 We are going to have a stall here. It is right near Puffing Billy in Victoria, so make a long day of it, enjoy browsing. Let me know if you need of our dies or templates beforehand, I will bring them with me. I can't take every single item.... but will have lots with me. :)

17.01.2022 It's really amazing. The analysis of my website sales for the last month... 35% to the US! Canada took 6%, and the rest to Australia. Even with the postage its still good value for the US to buy from us. We have also made a few other new dies.. lots of rectangles and squares, half square triangles etc. My newest favourite is the big Orange Peel, but would love to make the mixed Snails Trail and Storm at Sea combination. Everything has been requested. the Snails trail is die 6290 and it fits with parts of Storm at Sea (6790) perfectly. We also have Winding Ways in 2 sizes. 6300 is on a 6" x 12" and it makes a 8" finished block while die number 6712 is on a 10" x 15" die and makes a 12" finished block. As we make these right here, we can guarantee the workmanship and can make to order. No middlemen!

17.01.2022 We love this product. It goes so far and I reckon I could coat a few aprons etc before I need another jar. It makes the fabric feel like oil cloth. Now my wallet can get a wash and then the treatment. Next chance I get, I better make another wallet or 3!

16.01.2022 So sad to hear of the passing today of one of Australia's best designers in the quilting industry. Rosalie Dekker was so approachable and friendly. I love her fabric designs so much I have used several in our fabric cutting die samples, so nice to have quality Australian designs available. Her absence will be felt greatly. Sympathy to her family :(

15.01.2022 We have mask dies and more mask dies! Everyone has a favourite and I have obtained permission from two designers to link back to their page for the patterns and instructions. We also added today a "Magic" die, in that it folds so people with a narrow cutter can now make masks by placing the fabric on the fold. Only one type of mask actually suits that, the 3D contoured mask. So, here is a link to the page with the facemasks, if you are like me and need to make lots of mas...ks for the family and friends. The 3d mask is so comfortable, no need for a nose wire, it is snug and roomy. the sizing is small, so you need Large for an average adult in these masks. The links on the website mean you can also cut a pattern from their PDF's. If you want to make a lot, then go ahead and get the dies for sure. I just prefer people mask up and get rid of the virus. https://www.a1craftandquilting.com.au/search See more

15.01.2022 Want to make quick bowl cosies? This Bowl Cosy die is the perfect answer to enable you to line up the edges of fabric with batting in between. I will include a ...pattern in with the die, but it is so easy! The one in the cover is the first I made, it won't be the last. The squared corners are helpful to help you lift hot foods out of the microwave. See more

14.01.2022 We've been busy! So many more to add as we finish the instruction sheets.

14.01.2022 New die lids/covers to be included with all 6" x 12" dies. Spares available on the website. link in the comments.

12.01.2022 Thanks everyone, this page has just reached 400 likes. The reason I popped in today was to tell those in the US that if you order from us, and the postage turns out to be less, we will refund via Paypal. Also, if it is more, I will do as I do for Australians...absorb the extra. Our dies do work in the Accuquilt cutters, they are the exact height and include a mat. I would never even mention Accuquilt here, but still think until Australia has its own cutter, these are the b...est...but they have blocked me from the Accuquilt and Beyond page! Beyond once meant that we could discuss Sizzix, Accuquilt and Crossover machines, even Blue Wren. I note that even a lady who gave helpful advice to many newbies has also been excluded, probably because she gave advice on how to save money and not buy every die imaginable. Seems like the US has no free speech nowadays. See more

11.01.2022 Have you seen our Storm at Sea dies? We have two sizes, 8" and 12" finished. We recently added an 8" Snail's Trail to compliment the 12" Storm at Sea, making it possible to make a combination quilt. Each of these have instructions, and many variables. https://www.a1craftandquilting.com.au//storm-at-sea-12-fin

11.01.2022 I wondered why I had so many customers wanting our 1" finished squares, and 2" cut strip strips.

11.01.2022 Hi there everyone, this is the first die we made! It was a die shape (1 " squares, finishing at 1") that we had requested for 3 years from the company we used to retail for. It never arrived, they said to "cross-cut 1 " strips". That doesn't work with the same perfection! Guess what, you can buy 9 shapes on a die from them, or 18 on a a die from us! We include the mat!! Yes, they have taken 7 years since our first request, but finally it has been made. Should we be flattered?

11.01.2022 Ever run out of time to make a very large quilt? It happened to me last week. We had been so busy finishing off quilts for customers and getting last minute orders completed, I had 2 days to make a King sized quilt. I used our die 6033 Half Hexagon, and went to work picking out lights and darks for the hexies. I knew my friend overseas likes grey. So.. I actually hand sewed the back of the binding when I got here. I actually thought of it going the other way...but it looks good both ways.

10.01.2022 A lovely pair of blocks that are both 12" for a stunning quilt individually or alternating.

10.01.2022 So Happy as I have been given permission to make as requested by a customer, the acrylic template set for the Happy Hippo! My website listing has a link to her Etsy shop and the pattern is very reasonably priced. Of course, as the inside templates are all 1" wide, the pieces all interconnect, so you can create you own project as well.

10.01.2022 Another requested block, which we have also made on a 6" x 12" die (2x 4" wide leaves) and a 10" x 10 (9" wide leaf) and of course this. I'm going to be addin...g a log cabin soon! Bit different, it is an 8" block with the option of either purchasing another die to expand the size up to 14" or cutting your own strips to make it bigger. See more

09.01.2022 I haven't had a post here for a while have I? Just got to share our newest wonderful die... Feathered Star which comes in 2 sizes, 28 inch finished block and 20 inch finished block. Instructions written by my collaborator in the US, Carol Ann Maurer! It has been such a thrill to work with her to make this project come to fruition. The corner squares, and centre octagon can be purchased separately, or follow the instructions on the website to make them easily yourself. https://www.a1craftandquilting.com.au//feathered-star-6792

08.01.2022 Glorious Nine Patch, Uneven Nine Patch, a beautiful block by any name and a great way of using up scraps or the remains of a collection, even the remains of jelly rolls.Just added! Remember all our dies come with their own mat. By the way, our mats and dies are perfect in all cutters. They DO NOT damage other cutters, I use those other cutters every day with our dies.

08.01.2022 I have added 3 more strip cutting dies. The first is just 1/4" wide, requested for cutting wool felt into lengths for rug hooking! So then we made a 1/2" strip for piping and embellishing edges, and a 3/4" strip cutter especially for me, actually my very first request to myself! I am making a pixellated quilt and want a very narrow strip as tiny sashing between each little block.

08.01.2022 Ideal video to watch while you are home with sewing machines really wanting a bit of attention. while there, Subscibe for loads of helpful inspiration.

06.01.2022 Yet another one.... made for some time and only just on the website! I wrote the pattern up and then realised it would be easier if the shapes were numbered to make it easier to sew together..so the die shapes are engraved. This is for larger cutters only. We have a 3 piece set for the smaller cutters.

05.01.2022 I have just listed this on our website, it has 5 for the paper templates and 4 for the fabric. I will add shortly the 1/2" hexagon along with multiple 14 for t...he papers and 13 for the fabric. I have added the 1/2" hexagon as well, but the wrong photo keeps showing up here! Photo is below in the comments See more

03.01.2022 Very pleased to announce we have made the Cottonwood Boho templates here in Australia with permission from the designer, Anne Verberckmoes. Just as in our NCW s...ets, we offer extras. You must purchase the pattern to buy the templates, we have a link on the page. We have also made the Pouch templates, they will be added in the next day or so. Love this bag! On our website https://www.a1craftandquilting.com.au//cottonwood-boho-bag See more

02.01.2022 This die continues to be popular, and rightly so. All the colours sit on individual dies, making it less wasteful, at the same time making it easier to use up your scraps. We have different sizes of this die, 8" 10 and 12", ans also on one bigger die for the Accuquilt cutters or Big Shot Pro
