Emma, from our All Abilities class, came in and shared her favourite wiggles song and dance with everyone! Emma loves to say hello to Miss Simone and the preschool class every Tuesday - so we made it a little extra special for her ... 22.01.2022 2021 DanceStep We are very excited to announce we are now a registered affiliate studio and member of the DanceStep program. Offered in partnership with studio teachers, DanceStep empowers students to take care of others and guides them to be leaders and role models. The program covers assistant teaching skills such as behaviour management, different learning needs and styles, Safe Dance Principles and Anatomy to name just a few. Whether students are considering a career in... dance teaching or otherwise, the DanceStep program is a great preparation for many aspects of life. We will be having an information session on Tuesday the 15th of December and applications for the program will open shortly after this. 21.01.2022 WHAT A MASSIVE WEEKEND!! On Friday night we had a mini, in house presentation for our exam and competition students. Our exam students received their 2020 exam results and we couldn’t of been happier. Despite all the set backs, every student passed their exams, with over half of our exam students receiving honours or above and four Honours with distinction - the Highest possible mark! We then spend Saturday afternoon and Sunday in studio for our 2020 photos. It was so good... to see all the students dressed up. We are so proud of your dedication and commitment to dance this year. Despite all the odds you all got on stage this weekend and shone like superstars! 1st place - Open Jazz 1st place - Mini Jazz... 1st place - ETP Ballet 1st place - Senior jazz 1st place - Senior contemporary 1st place - Inter lyrical 2nd place - Open lyrical 2nd place - ETP Jazz 2nd place - Inter jazz Solo and duo places to come after another day tomorrow!

20.01.2022 SO PROUD OF OUR STUDENTS Even after completing a ballet and tap mock exam yesterday, Jake, Erin and Charlotte all traveled to Swansea last night to compete at @shinebrightdancechallenge Jake and Erin competed their tap duo for the first time, coming away with first place! ... Charlotte came away with three highly commendeds for her first eisteddfod for 2020! We are continuously blown away by our students dedication and determination - Well done Jake, Erin and Charlotte #blusdance

Our staff at Blus School of Dance are such strong, positive role models for all our students. 16.01.2022 R U OK? Its okay, not to be okay! Sometimes we have a bad day, but sometimes the bad days start to take over and you dont know what to do. With the rising pressures of social media R U OK day is just as important for children and teenagers as it is for all adults.... As well as checking in on a family member or a friend, take some time to check in on your children. Are they okay, do they know what to do if they arent okay, or do they know how to help a friend who isnt okay? These can sometimes be hard topics for people to talk about, so be patient and check in regularly. Empower our children to help others

13.01.2022 We had a massive day in the studio today with our mock exams. A huge thank you to Miss Izzy from Platinum Dance Centre for coming and marking our students. Its been extremely hard for students this year, missing 10 weeks of classes in the studio and several workshops. Despite everything, they have all worked so hard to make it to this point. We are so excited to give them their feedback this week and apply the final corrections before exams in September. No matter what happens, we are so proud of all of you

03.01.2022 2021 JANUARY WORKSHOPS!! These workshops are always our biggest of the year. Let your kids trial a number of styles, hang out with their friends and get a feel for what dancing will be like in 2021. These workshops are suitable for beginners as well as students with dance experience. Our half day mini/junior workshops are aimed at students starting kindergarten right up to students going into year two in 2021. Styles will include, jazz, ballet, acro basics, lyrical/contempo...rary, skills and a range of fun confidence building activities. Our full day intermediate workshops are for students going into year three right up to year five. Our full day PS/Senior workshops are for students going into year six right up to year ten. Styles in our full day workshops will include jazz, funk, lyrical/contemporary, skills, fundamentals, choreography and a range of confidence and team building activities. Ice blocks and fruit will be provided at all of our workshop days however students at our half day workshops are required to bring morning tea and plenty of water. Students at our full days will also need to bring lunch, snacks and plenty of water. To book a spot please send a message to our Facebook page. Each week will have different content, so students are welcome to attend both weeks. Workshop fees are payable in cash on the day. All students attending these workshops will need to be signed in using a QR code, so please ensure your child or a parent/guardian has a smart phone on arrival to sign them in.
