25.01.2022 Hi! I wanted to say a quick hello to those new folk following the page. I’m so humbled by the likes, follows, DMs, and recent orders! So here’s the wrap up: I’m Merrie, I’m a teacher and a painter, specialising in painting the moon as it was on your special date. The feedback I’m given most commonly is that you can literally see and feel the love that I put into every single order when they’re hanging on your wall. Here are some little known facts about me: I’m naturally REALLY terrible at maths. I smashhhhh an almond Capp. @ryumyu is my better half, he also is the person who sends you your receipts, invoices, and makes me regularly laugh until I cry. I don’t use any toxic mediums, and my solar powered studio is Low-impact wherever possible. You can send me a DM, making new friends is my most favourite thing next to enoki mushrooms.

22.01.2022 Four years of blushing. I just realised in the whirlwind of the last few months I hadn’t celebrated Four Years since blushstroke began. I wouldn’t be where I am today without your love and support. This entire business hinges on people sharing their experiences with others and now looking back I realise how many doors your love has opened for me. You’ve helped me raise thousands of dollars for wonderful charities, enabled me to open a dedicated solar powered studio, and fille...d homes around the world with my art. Just this year alone, over 60 custom moons have winged their way around the globe. 18.01.2022 October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant loss Awareness day. And yes, I am a 1 in 4. One in four women will experience pregnancy or infant loss. I am the third in my maternal line that has experienced this, ironically my beautiful grandma lost her infant daughter, Merrie, who is my namesake. The hardest part of a loss like this is the stigma that exists around it. I’m so lucky that I’ve had an incredible support network, including amazing friends, emotional and psychological sup...port from many including @sandsaustralia, and also, a beautiful community of people here providing endless kindness... Since fundraising for SANDS earlier this year, so many of you have felt safe to open up to me and share your stories. A step towards the light which absolutely must be shed on pregnancy loss, and infant loss. This beautiful Dark Moon artwork is not only a lovely original moon, it’s also an image of an embryo transfer for another Mother in the Making, hidden amongst the craters. Many of my moons have a story behind them inspired by deep loss, and I have so much love and respect for each of you who has opened up to me, for your bravery, and for making my story easier to tell too, I couldn’t do this without you. But all I can say is that this months charity drive for @sandsaustralia is inspired by this story, and many others like it. Love and loss are never tangled tighter than when a baby is lost. Not only have many people made extremely generous personal donations to Sands Australia, plus I’ve auctioned off TWO framed originals, but all proceeds from all June artwork bookings are also going towards this worthy cause.
