25.01.2022 Jax is loving the online little samurais classes. Thanks for letting us know Jax, youre doing an amazing job with your brother Zepher. Keep up the great job and thanks for letting us know

25.01.2022 We're hitting the weekend for our Saturday morning casual classes very soon, though I wanted to say just how much fun we had last Thursday for our parents night. Each holiday we put aside a training session where a parent or grown-up can come and train with their kids. Not a usual night, lots of fun, laughter and wrestling thrown in. It's all about building memories with the kids. Have a great weekend everyone

25.01.2022 Tempory dojo at home for our online classes finished #busseltonmartialarts

24.01.2022 Our online program is smashing out videos each week for our students. From our weekly technical video, our mid week skill set and usually a small teaser extra cirricular video. What an awesome way to continue our training with the kids and adults whilst keeping in touch and working towards goals. If youre interested in keeping the kids busy and upkeeping your own training, get into contact with us as soon as you can

24.01.2022 With our current staff break in September 2020, it gave Craig Sensei (Shihan 5th Dan) an opportunity to travel down to his old Dojo in Manjimup with one of his leading students, William (Shidoin 4th Dan) to visit his original Sensei and mentor Klaus Mueller (Renshi Shihan 6th Dan) Sensei Craig trained in Bridgetown from 1986 until 1991 where he took over the coaching of students under Klaus Senseis supervision. Craig Sensei continued to also train in the Manjimup Dojo twice ...a week from 1991 until the Bridgetown dojo closed in October 1993 and Sensei Craig moved to Busselton to open his current Dojo on the 28th March 1994. Klaus Shihan has had the Manjimup Dojo in operation for 45 years. Ever since 1994, Craig Sensei had managed to come and train at his old Dojo every year by himself or organising students to come with him. The faces change and we all miss the students from old, but the atmosphere and memories remain at one of the best dojos in the lower south west of WA. Class is always challenging in Manjimup and Klaus Sensei always gives time for Craig Sensei to coach most of the class with concepts of bridging and receiving from Koryu Uchinadi, (founded by Patrick McCarthy 9th Dan). We also hope to see the Manjimup Dojo pop accross to Busselton in the near future Till next year!

23.01.2022 Keep up the hard work Jessica. The online classes have been great and were looking forward to seeing you back in class in a few weeks times.

16.01.2022 So proud of our little champion Jax here at BMA. Jax has become the 1 of only 2 ever to complete the little samurai program of all 110 classes obtaining his final coloured stripe today. An awesome role model to all of the other kids in the class he now graduates to our junior martial arts program for 6-8 yr olds. Training since he was 4 yrs of age, Jax has set a great example for others to follow and a future leader to come.

One of a team of 3 instructors in BMAs exclusive SWAT Instructor program, Lachlan has been coaching for almost 3 years. Lachlan is in charge of our Monday and shared Saturday programs and is truly loved by our 3-5yr old kids.... He has been a loyal and hardworking member of BMA for almost 7 years obtaining his senior Shodan level (1st Dan black belt) and level 1 instructor qualification under Chief Instructor of BMA, Craig Crampton Shihan. A highly respected member of the BMA family and from all the parents, he is a highly valued asset to the team and everyone loves working with him at all levels.

15.01.2022 Weve have simply been flat out at BMA the last few weeks. With the go ahead on able to hold larger classes we have gone full steam ahead. Congratulations to Jax, the second only student ever to complete his 110 classes for the Little Samurais. now along side Mia Crampton for the same honour. Well done to parents who participated in our Parents Night at BMA, also to the students who thumped on at our July Fight Night. We also held a movie night to give parents a much needed rest for an evening and played around with some knife defence for the teens/adults. All that and were now gearing up for our first Dojo grading for 2020! Keep up the hard work kids

14.01.2022 Here at BMA we are doing everything above and beyond to make sure our training area is sanistised every single day (we did anyway, but we are taking even more measures) and we thank those adult members who help me every night. We have sanitiser stations and upgraded our toilet facility for extra care for cleaning. Training has been modified to only include basics, solo representations, kata and fitness workouts. No close quarter partner work is being practiced for hopefully t...he short term period. We have included members only private groups to a LIVE FEED of each and every appropriate class for a few members that have chosen to stay at home and still train with us. Members are encouraged to PM Sensei Craig to get an invite to the group. BMA also has a very extensive ONLINE portal for individual classes. Hundreds of videos are available through our online univeristy to access for members and continue to train at home anytime. There are even a few videos where sibling, parents or partners are coached to train together. Each video is a detailed account of how to perform and train for each grade level. We are also still planning to run our grading which is due at the end of April. Though it will be run as a grading week with modified requirements (jeez, those basic better be good) during our normal classes. So keep training and make plans to attend those classes coming up I am so proud of the BMA Family and that we can work together as a community to be safe and so that we can keep the dojo running for all of us into the future. See you on the mats soon Craig Sensei

14.01.2022 INSTRUCTOR PROFILE Passionate and commited is what our 6'4" Instructor, Andrew is at BMA. One of a team of 3 instructors in BMA's exclusive SWAT Instructor program, Andrew has been coaching for almost 3 years.... Andrew is in charge of our shared Saturday program and is truly loved by all of our Saturday students. Before taking up full time work, Andrew was coaching 2-3 times a week in classes. 13.01.2022 Great classes today. Were taking all the advised necessary steps to continue training here at the dojo. For the next few weeks we will be focusing on solo drills, kata, fitness and solo base skill games. The classes are still packed with hard work and its a great time to focus on the smaller techniques and footwork on a more higher level. All of the classes will get brief mat chat at the start in regards to personal and pro active hygiene practices. ... Hand sanitizer stations throughout the dojo are available to use sparingly when required and the adults will stay back each night to clean to dojo again for the next day. See you on the mats soon Sensei See more

08.01.2022 Koryu Uchinadis Riai-Tegumi A completely systematised method of learning how to effectively deal with scenario-driven and timeless acts of physical v...iolence. KUs 2-person application drills are culminated by bringing science and art together for engagement practice. Using the template application rituals, learned in our unique 2-person practice exercises, Riai-Tegumi is ones ability to engage, receive, respond, escape & counter/capture and/or control an opponent, with varying levels of aggressive resistance. Starting from any of three positions; Stand-up position after, Crossing-hands; The clinch, from any angle; and/or; Ground position[s], it is the unscripted and random exchange of, HAPV vs template-application, which serve as a basis of discovery. It is through this old-school contextual premise that learning and practice become the pathway leading to individualised training, and functional competency...the original outcome most desired by its pioneers. A unique system of application practices, Riai-Tegumi bridges together the dysfunctional gap between kata and kumite. This easy-to-learn structure can, and does, strengthen the delivery system of any traditional Japanese/Okinawan Karate style. Riai-Tegumi, exemplifies the best of the original arts old-school practices. On Ko Chi Shin [] is a timeless Japanese axiom meaning, "To Study the Old is to [better] Understand the New." Embracing these time-honoured practices is like walking in the footsteps of the pioneers. Best of all, learning and introducing this catalytic-like practice into ones dojo, honours the legacy of the art and those who pioneered it. Moreover, in no way does it adversely affect the longstanding cosmetic appearance of ones existing style, nor take anything away from its cultural heritage or challenge, in any way, whatsoever, ones political alliance[s]. If you are looking to get back to the wonderfully functional art that predates the development of its modern and rule-bound counterpart, perhaps then, this is for you.
