22.01.2022 Well that’s a wrap as they say..! What a month December has been! I hope all my beauties were on the right side of Santa, I hope you all had the Happiest of New Years...but now it is time for this little ducky to rest and relax...... Trading will recommence 23rd January 2018 for all your beauty and relaxation needs.. I will be responding to msgs where I can as the first week back is filling up fast! 16.01.2022 Hello my little beauty family! It’s been a hot minute hasn’t it! Gahhhh! So I’ve had a lot of interest about yesterday’s government announcement for entering into Stage 1 of the the ‘Roadmap to easing restrictions’ due to commence 11:59pm Fri May 15th. (Trade must begin Sat 16th essentially). I’ve had a colleague send me a screen capture yesterday after the announcement which has a variance in wording from Stage 1-Stage 3 that didn’t fill me with a lot of confidence as ...to whether my business and its specific treatments could go ahead and re-open in Stage 1. I have since reviewed the roadmap today and Thankyou QLD government for making an amendment without letting all us beauty therapists know and ‘sweat’ for the last 12 hours about what your roadmap actually meant to our industry???!? The term ‘waxing’ has been removed overnight, or likely quicker, from Stage 3 restrictions wording... This now gives our industry, I believe, a clearer understanding of what is and isn’t allowed for Stage 1. I am seeking further clarification but I am confident my most popular treatments can commence shortly. As you are all aware it’s not a simple as ‘just opening your doors’...an up to date client register and COVID safe plan is required. Which is the perfect time for me to implement the TIMELY app I have been fence sitting on for so many months! So this is a small update, more to come as I will be a busy ensuring we get this right, we stay safe and put our best foot forward following all guidelines and procedures in this crazy current climate we have been presented with. 13.01.2022 Wowsers!!! I made it to HOLIYAYS! What a year that was, it has seen some of my very dear clients go on tremendous adventures with their little fambams, it has seen the return of some much loved favourites back in the 4017, but most of all it has continued with my fantastic loyal and unwavering client base. My gosh July 2018 saw a change of premise for BMB, a lot of blood, sweat and tears, mantras written on the brown ghetto wall paper (inside client joke) and the many..., many hours spent inside the inner follicle workings of my little micro business...(1 employee only) This will be my 3rd year in business and what a journey it has been, leaps bounds and a few backward steps to colour the unique fabric I weave as I push forward into the journey ahead! Always with gusto and a brave heart I sincerely thank all of my clients, from the brand newbies to the intermittent between tiny cherubs, to the time poor and the last minute free timers, to the gift givers and the skincare clans, to my glorious tanners and last but not least to my ‘originals’ those that have been with me since day dot! I didn’t quite realise the relationships that would form from being a client into being a part of the ‘sistahood’. There are days when I am in awe of the courage and support my wonderful ladies bring into my ‘everyday’... I am truly appreciative and believe people will always gravitate back to what makes that feel good and at ease. Like I always say my beauties...remember to always ‘vibe with your tribe’ Sheesh, see what a little bit of downtime can do...I’ve gone slightly sentimental! 13.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE In light of the recent pandemic that has been thrust upon us I’d like to reassure my beloved clients of a few things: ACTIONS IN BMB’S CONTROL ... * Safe hygiene practises. This includes hand washing, disinfecting surfaces, sterilising operating utensils. * Increased disinfecting of close contact points such as door ways and eftpos machine. * Self distancing - this one is a little tricky given I need access to your gorgeous face to weave my follicular magic...but rest assured I have great social etiquette and sneezing in your face or putting my hands in my mouth wasn’t high on my list of social cues before Covid-19. My space is approx 32m, there is only ever one client at a time and I am the owner/operator/creator of said magic at BMB so given the new social distancing of 2x2m between humans...you are in good hands (so to speak) * If you are feeling unwell, as per before Covid...please reschedule. I know you think they can’t...but your brows can wait...my bills will not. * If you wish to arrive early to your appointment I have a space provided out the front of my premise with tables and chairs to ensure social distancing between clients. ACTIONS BMB WILL NOT BE PRACTISING: * Fear mongering of any type. * Stockpiling of toilet paper...’that’ll do donkey...that’ll do’. * Negative self talk (way before Covid anyways) ACTIONS BMB WILL BE PRACTISING: * Laughter (just no hugging) * Generosity and kindness (no limited stock level on this one...phew)! * Assisting the needy and vulnerable * Ensuring your time at my little space is just as relaxing as it has always been. If you are requiring skincare BMB is offering direct deposit options and delivery can be arranged to your premise within the 4017 area. In business you have to adjust and move with the times in order to stay alive. Please support your local small businesses, it is a very uncertain and concerning time for many of us and our livelihoods. 11.01.2022 Ok so this is what BMB looks like post Covid...sterile, inanimate and not very tactile!! But...it’s OPEN...so let’s keep it open, let’s get all small business back on track! Here’s what little old BMB is doing to keep my little beauties safe and well from the old Rona! ... (The emoji’s are purely for kicks as I spent hours in my space today getting ready for what ‘normal’ looks like) - Sanitiser has been placed at the front counter, please ensure you use said sanitiser upon arrival. () - Horrible but necessary face masks are being used, don’t be alarmed...its just a measure we need for now () - All testers & trinkets have been removed to eliminate unnecessary points of contact and efficiency for sanitising, as always, please ask and I will provide said testers for your perusal () - It is recommended that no persons are to accompany you with your visit. As you all know, I’m a child friendly space but for now I have made the business decision to allow no children to my space until restrictions ease...this is the based on the fact that there are too many points of contact to sanitise between a full appointment schedule and I also have the social distancing to consider in my limited space. So please factor this in when making your appointment. () - You are all like my blended, extended beauty family, I know you have completed client consult forms but it is mandated to ensure all details are up to date, current and kept for 28 days. So upon arrival a quick double check/update of details will be required. - Non contact points of payment are available (shoot me a msg for direct deposit) eftpos and cash is also accepted. Hot debate with cash I know...but they are all forms of payment. Only catch with cash is that it will go straight into sanitisation, no change will be available at this point (msg me for exact $$) as much as I would love to be laundering money all day...my day is full enough! (so many great puns) - And lastly, I know you have heard it 600 million times, but if you are unwell, fever, sore throat, cough...please, please reschedule. We in the business community are going to great lengths, mostly mandated but also just being great humans to ensure your safety...please do me a favour and consider our safety and that of others visiting the salon. () ** You will be refused entry to my space if you are displaying any of these symptoms ** And lastly let’s all just push through to the other side, I’m keen as a bean (strangely no emoji for a bean) and I know you are too! 06.01.2022 Hello again my beauties! An update for you all in this current Covid climate! BMB will officially recommence trade as of Tuesday May 19th 2020 @ 10am. ... All services will be available with the exception of Tanning...sorry my little golden beauties but you will have to wait until Stage 2 12 June 2020. (remembering the more we comply, keep numbers low, this service could be offered earlier than predicted). I will keep my golden girls informed of any changes! EDIT: (14/5/20) Non therapeutic massage is restricted until Stage 3 10th July 2020. I defy anyone to say that any massage isn’t therapeutic but for now that means no Swedish Relax or Upper Body. I have reserved Saturday 16th May 2020 (official lift of restrictions for beauty therapy) for clients who had scheduled appointments from 26th March 2020 (day after forced government closure). I will be making contact with you today to confirm times. I have received a healthy (and delightful) amount of inbox msgs so please bare with me! All of you who know me know I always do my best to accomodate clients and I will be responding individually today/tomorrow x If you would like to book pop over to my page, select the book now button and choose a preferred day/time and I will do my best to ensure that it is accepted. 02.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE - FORCED CLOSURE. In line with the Prime Minister’s latest press release there is a ban on all beauty services. BMB will be closed until further notice. ... Forced closure is to take effect as of midnight tomorrow, Wednesday 25th March. I will be in contact with my clients who are affected.
