You bullet belt is not 'ammunition' therefore there is no law restricting the possession or your movements (travel on plane, but for christ sake don't try carry on!) BECAUSE the wording airlines and laws use is 'ammunition' not 'inert bullets'. So when someone attempts to take a bullet belt from you make sure you tell them you are within your right to have a inert bullet belt and there is no law against you having one, refer them to the firearms act 1996 section 4 of the definition of ammunition. As long as you are not using it in a violent or threatening way and caused no other justifiable reason for it to be taken from you.
