23.01.2022 Well, good news and sad news at the same time. I have sold DAV! New owner seems really keen and I was brutally honest about all the less than perfect features o...f the car. The new owner intends restoring the bodywork and using the Mini as a regular driver and taking his surf boards to the beach (I gave him a couple of roof bars) and wanted a Mini Van to fit his two dogs inside. I couldn't be happier as I want DAV to be put to productive use. As I have said in the past, DAV was built for a purpose and achieved what it was meant to very well, completing five charity bush rallies and raising around $60,000 between The Cancer Council and Camp Quality. Thanks again to all our sponsors and supporters over the years. While DAV will no longer be doing these events, I do still have the other Mini Van, so anything is possible in the future. 20.01.2022 Thanks to all the people who came over and said g'day at the All British Day in Sydney, and especially for all the good wishes and positive thoughts about the magazine and my future work. 20.01.2022 Time for another super special to move on a bit of stock. This DVD was produced for the official 65th anniversary celebrations of Land Rover in the UK five years ago. It is an excellent production that runs for an hour and showcases many interesting and unique models of Land Rover. A must-have for any Land Rover enthusiast. We have quite a few of these left, as I imported a heap for the 70th celebrations at Cooma earlier this year but they weren't as successful as I had hope...d. Having sold DAV, I will not be in a Mini but will still have a trade stand at the All British Day in Sydney and will still have some great bargains. 15.01.2022 Another very rare opportunity to own possibly the last original Moke Bali roof available. This item is not new. It came off a genuine Moke "Californian" in 1973 and has been mostly rolled up and stored in dark, dry garages ever since. See photo for how the roof was ten years ago - please note, the Moke is not for sale - only the roof. The roof is in fairly good condition, but there is some fading on the top. The side curtains are not faded, but there has been some shrinkage... over the years. The side curtains have been extended with black strips along the top for easier fitting. The roof would need to be professionally fitted and repaired to be at its best, but it is the ideal component to complete a restoration of any Special Export Moke "Californian" (1971 - 1973). 14.01.2022 Here's a very rare opportunity to own possibly the last few metres of genuine original Bali material around anywhere, to suit Special Export "Californian" Moke. This is seat material, not for the roof or side curtains. It is thinner than the roof material and is white on the reverse side - the roof material is grey on the reverse. This material is made from pure Unobtainium. The roll is 1.3m wide and 3.4m long (plus a little extra bit - see photo 1). The Bali pattern is in ...perfect condition and not at all faded - has been kept rolled up for many years. 12.01.2022 I received a big surprise today. Trawling through my storage shed, looking for a particular book, I came across a container with two complete sets of The BMC Experience magazine in binders, in mint condition. I have previously sold a couple of complete sets, believing they were the very last I had, but now I have these two. Go figure. Anyway, these really are the very last sets available (I have two sets I am keeping for myself).... So, first in, best-dressed. Each set has all 22 issues of the magazine, plus a copy of the Oz50 Mini souvenir booklet and The Mini Experience index. Plus, I will throw in a copy of the Oz50 Mini Carnival DVD (set of three DVDs on the entire 8-day event in 2011). These are $500 per set, including postage.
