21.01.2022 Our Services: Exercise Physiology Following up on our post from last week, this is the first post detailing our services. We are beginning with the one that started it all. Exercise Physiology. What is is Exercise Physiology? An Exercise Physiologist is an Allied Health professional with extensive training in understanding the body's response to exercise. They specialize in treating and managing specific conditions both physical and mental through specific exercise prescrip...tion. An Exercise Physiologist can get you up and moving again, and get your health back on track. An Exercise Physiologist emphasizes that exercise is essential for EVERYONE to maintain health and functionality. We currently have 3 Exercise Physiologists on staff with more hopefully joining us soon, they are: Carla, Nicola and Tash, all of whom have their own specialties and niches to help you be the best you you can be. Carla, the owner and founder of Bmee has been an Exercise Physiologist for nearly 15 years. In that time she has helped many people achieve their health and fitness goals and made a positive impact on the community. Carla has a passion for an active lifestyle and believes it is always important to stay moving. Nicola is a new grad, starting her Exercise Physiology career this year. Nicola has a passion for helping people and believes exercise is for everyone. Tash: Our newest EP, Tash has been in fitness for over a decade. Tash enjoys treating specific conditions and using exercise such as Pilates and trigger points to help clients live pain free and functional. Drop in today and see what an Accredited Exercise Physiologist can do for you! See more

20.01.2022 Our Services: Dietitian The next in our series of Our Services is Amanda our Dietitian. What is a Dietitian? A Dietitian is a food expert who specializes in nutrition and the regulation of diet. A Dietitian has extensive training in food role in the body, and how it can be altered, improved or maintained for specific conditions. A dietitian can also assist in helping improve your response and results from exercise (you cannot out exercise a bad diet.) Because of this relatio...nship between diet and exercise, Dietitians and Exercise Physiologists often work hand in hand with one another to help their clients achieve the best results possible. Amanda, our Dietitian at Bmee has been interested in diet and healthy eating for a long time. She has a keen interest in helping others find and maintain a healthy eating so that they may live the best, healthiest life possible. Amanda can help anyone with dietary issues, but specializes in bariatrics (the management of obesity) and gastric sleeve surgery (pre and post recovery), and management of behavior through diet. If you feel like you are exercising hard but not seeing results, need some dietary advice to help improve your functionality or reduce pain, or have just had or are thinking of having gastric sleeve surgery, maybe it's time to give a dietitian a call. Be the best, healthiest you you can be! See more

As a result of the Brisbane Lockdown over the weekend, Bmee will be adhering to the new restrictions put in place by the QLD Government until 22nd of January. Primarily this will be in regards to wearing masks. If you have visited Brisbane on or after the 2nd of January (even if you have had a negative COVID test result), we ask that you please wear a mask to the clinic for the next 10 days. Due to our clinical environment this is of the upmost importance even if you don't think you need one. As always please call and reschedule your appointment if you have cold and flu symptoms. Thank you for your cooperation in this difficult time. Stay fit and stay safe.

15.01.2022 Our Services: Personal Training and Massage Today on our Our Services Series, we are focusing on Personal Training and Massage. What is Personal Training and how is it different to Exercise Physiology? Personal Training involves a trainer creating a specific program for your goals and ensuring it is done correctly to achieve maximal result. Whilst an Exercise Physiologist focuses on treating and managing specific conditions with exercise, a Personal Trainer identifies your ...fitness goals and creates a program that will help you achieve them in an efficient manner by focusing on exercise order, muscle pairings and intensity level. A Personal Trainer can help you get over that fitness barrier and get to where you want to be! Massage: Massage goes hand in hand with exercise. As our muscles lengthen and contract during exercise, they may develop tightness, muscular fatigue, delayed onset muscle soreness, and muscular knots. Massage can help alleviate this discomfort by breaking down muscular knots and lengthening muscle fibers. Massage also promotes proper lymphatic function so you get sick less, and causes the release of dopamine (so its a great way to wind down and relax. Massage is as good for mental recovery as it is physical . Mike is our on Staff Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist. Mike has been working in the fitness industry for 7 years now, and firm believer that exercise can help everyone. Mike's goal is helping clients find an exercise program that works for them so they find it easier to stay committed and see the fantastic benefits of regular exercise. Mike enjoys working with all types of clients, from high level performers to kids and NDIS clients. Because regular exercise can help everyone! Personal Training can offer an affordable way to meet your fitness goals. NDIS funding is also available. If you have hit a wall with your training, or feel like your training needs to be more specific, or just need to relax with a massage then give us a call!
