24.01.2022 The incredible Nate Finch has shared with us a bit about his work. We are currently exhibiting some of his paintings, which you can come in and view - its just a matter of calling or emailing us to make a time. "My work explores relationships that develop between mark intensities, colour harmonies and surface textures. Things that cant be explained in words, responses to living, are translated in my own visual language. This serves to interpret the gritty complexities that ...we encounter living in this ever connected world. This language provides a portal into my subconscious, offering the viewer an opportunity to access theirs. This orchestrates a conversation between myself, the surface and viewer. Its work that informs itself with energy that is spontaneous and direct, placing an emphasis on materiality. Scale, space and the movement of the artist become mediums of their own, equally important in the communication."

Marijana talked to us about her incredible works in this exhibition: "When you Rock the Boat Series II is a collection of wall panels constructed from woven steel straps. They are an allegory for preconditioned sets of patterns with occasional meanders that we take from our everyday repetitious behaviours or activities. They are also metaphors for our contemporary life wanderings in search of a special place of calm and retreat, often connected to landscapes of our childhood." 17.01.2022 Launching next week: 'Witness' by Christopher Orchard In the artist's own words: "This collection is a meditation on the act of witnessing events in the world. The events may be physical, aural and visual but all reside in the mind of the observer. Images like The Speed of Light address vision, The Speed of Sound, hearing, The Monitor, being watched and so on. There is a distinct lack of clarity in many of the smaller charcoal works in which, rather than us, the viewer, ...watching the observer, we are looking directly at an unspecified, but vaguely troubling event in which there appears to be an imbalance of the individual vs. the group. As opposed to the larger works the smaller drawings are out of focus, unclear, ambiguous, recalling the often-reported inaccuracy of witness accounts of events. He was blindfolded, maybe. He was holding a weapon of some sort and so on. It seems to me that we are witnesses to events globally in ways unimaginable even a decade ago. A visual and aural overload that has blurred the divide between real and imagined." Artwork details: The Incident 2 2020, charcoal on paper on canvas by Christopher Orchard.

14.01.2022 Sculptor Nicholas Uhlmann presents an exquisite series of abstract bird forms crafted from various metals and timber. The artist has created a distinctive method of wrapping a steel armature in layers of thin metallic strips; an organic constructivist technique which he has developed and refined over the years to create an impressive collection of miniature and large scale outdoor public sculptures; a notable work is his installation of five sculptures titled 'Tree Flower Life Cycle', adorning the main courtyard in the Royal Adelaide Hospital. You only have today and tomorrow to come in and see these exquisite works in person! This is one not to be missed

13.01.2022 You only have a few days left to pop in and see our incredible current exhibitions by talented artists Trevor McNamara and Marijana Tadic Trevor talked to us about his incredible works in this exhibition: Standing before a blank canvas is an exciting experience for me. It all starts with a plan of what I want to achieve - colours, medium and textures. I employ many layers; lights against darks, undercoats and different mixtures of paints, all process driven with a dialogue of responses and reactions. I like light to let the work take on a presence. Read what the painting says - it may tell you a story or take you on a journey, either way its a visual experience for the senses. A painting should be as exciting to own as it is to create. - Trevor McNamara Artwork details: Phoenix Rising, mixed media on canvas by Trevor McNamara.
