17.01.2022 For the first weekend of Carnival of Trains (Saturday September 19 and Sunday September 20) we had lots of visitors and got lots of positive comments from th...em about our clubhouse and layouts. People have been very willing to follow our Covid protocols and we have had a very convivial atmosphere in the clubhouse. We will be open tomorrow, Monday September 21 from 10.00am to 4.00pm, and based on the number of visitors we get then, we will make further decisions about our opening days for the remainder of the Carnival of Flowers (up to Sunday September 27). If there are subsequent days when we aren’t open, we will advise in advance by Facebook. See more

15.01.2022 The GCMRC committee met today and also held a working bee to get our clubrooms ready for reopening. In conjunction with our landlords COVID19 safe plan, we will... reopen for GCMRC members only once the QLD government relaxes restrictions to 50 people. While 20 are allowed now, on Saturdays we often get more than 20 so rather than create a restrictive operation process, we agreed it was fairer to all our members to reopen once restrictions are eased further, then everyone who does come along can run trains and participate. We cleaned all the windows and floors, gave the kitchen the once over and will be repainting the toilets next week. Thanks to all the committee today, especially Jim, just days out of the hospital for their hard work. Our club, come reopen time will be sparkling! We are getting ready to reopen once restrictions lift further. OPEN DAYS We will recommence our monthly open days once restrictions are lifted for public gatherings, and look forward to seeing everyone soon!
