25.01.2022 Well sadly we will have to say goodbye to our beloved Swamp Sessions for a while. As expected we just got the call to say the Lawson Bowling Club is closed until further notice. We shall miss you all and of course will keep you informed once we have the go ahead to kick it off again. To keep up morale and lift our spirits though we would love it if you shared a video of a song here (cover or original). Social distancing and isolation doesn't mean we can't support each other and keep our creative juices flowing at this strange time. So please lets see you and hear some music. Love to all, Gillian and Eliot. x

25.01.2022 Thursday night July 2 , July 16 We are back in the saddle at The Lawson Bowling Club. NOTE: We will be swapping and cleaning microphones and stands between each set. We have 6 on hand which should help quicker rotation, but PLEASE, if you can bring your own mic that would be awesome!!! Registration opens 6:30pm (no reservations please) and we look forward to seeing you all real soon. ... Cheers, Gillian & Eliot See more

24.01.2022 *** SWAMP SESSION*** Lawson Bowling Club Sept. 17th 2020 Great to be back again with the talented and accepting Swamp performers.

23.01.2022 Some of tonight’s Swamp Session magic - full board - even with social distancing - a terrific night - what a wonderful community of people - and thanks again to Lawson Bowlo for having us!!! See you gals n guys on the 17th.

22.01.2022 Tonight - really looking forward to catching up with you guys!!!! We have experienced an unusually high level of interest for this night - from far afield So - Gilly and I will combine our individual sets into one and only perform 2 songs to kick things off. If you are planning on 2 or more sets with different lineups can you please consider a similar strategy? (Of course if we have only 9 acts we can go crazy!) This strategy will hopefully enable everyone who visits to ha...ve a go - thanks to you all. Board opens 6:30pm. First come first serve and please bring your own mic if possible. Thank U. Peace, love n’ music, El & Gillian See more

20.01.2022 Thursday night Jo and Dave lost a phone charger. If anyone has seen it, can you please let us know thanks. It looks like this.

19.01.2022 Tonight is Swamp night!!!!! Howlin !!!

16.01.2022 This Thursday night - see ya there!!!!

16.01.2022 It’s the first Thursday of the month and you knows what that means; it’s time to get up and jam and keep ourselves clean. PLEASE if you have one, bring your own microphone along (if performing) and let us know if you need to use one of ours. Covid rules and social distancing apply so no dancing, kissing or getting too close to the stage whilst acts are on. Damn! Board opens at 6:30pm/Kick off: 7pm. ... See ya all soon. PS: Drum kit will be supplied by the wonderful Rob Spark See more

13.01.2022 Phone and a pair of glasses left at the Swampies tonight. If anyone is missing these items they are now safely behind the bar at the Lawson Bowling Club.

12.01.2022 Good afternoon!!! Tonight the Swamp board opens at 6:30 for a 7pm start. It’s been a cracker of a night in the past few months - thank you However some come early and miss out on a spot. This is distressing so we will be trying our best to keep it fair for those that are a little less assertive. ... Please be mindful that in the spirit of a local music night that we try and give everyone a fair go. If you performed early recently maybe switch to a later spot to allow others an early spot? If you are performing in more than 1 act please be mindful whether others may have missed out on a spot due to your wish for multiple performances.... The club has a bistro now and Chinese food so choices are plentiful. Due to time constraints We need to cap acts to 12 max - 3 songs each. Last time we went to 10:35 and held up staff getting home on time to baby sitters etc so 10:15 is our target finish time. If punters push in line and grab early spots on a regular basis we may have to move to a hat draw. We hope we don’t need to do this. Thank you so much for your support and considering others Cheers El, Gill & The Lawson Bowlo

10.01.2022 What a fantastic night! So many great acts, so much good music, lots of laughs, great staff and some improv jams too. The best way to spend a Thursday.

10.01.2022 This Thursday is ON!!! - Rob Sparx is bringing the kit ! But please rest assured we will be open and running regularly unless advised otherwise by the Government!! All our microphones are cleaned with Glen 20 between each act for your comfort and safety. Please don’t touch them or the stands - Eliot will adjust as required.... See ya there!! See more

08.01.2022 Hey folks, Just wondering if anyone knows of any open mic nights around town? Haven't been able to find too much info online. Cheers

08.01.2022 What a hoot last night was! Here are some pics - many performers even brought their own mics to help out - mics and stands and cables were disinfected between sets . Strange days indeed but we made it work - thanks Swampies! Thx Lawson Bowlo! August 6th is our next session - fingers crossed - you know what I mean ...

04.01.2022 Thanks to the Swamp crew that came last night! Some great music moments with our number down a little - understandably! All is set for our next Swamp Session on April 2nd!!! (Unless things change with COVID19 indoor group rules). Ronnie and Gilly apologise for not being able to make last night - they will be back soon! We were fortunate to have our resident photographer Ronnie J Williams at our last session on March 5th - thanks Ronnie for the pics buddy! We also had a new ...friend Jason come along from Jason Kirk Photography who has been kind to share a load of great pics he took on that night! Once again thanks to the Lawson Bowling Club for your continued support through this challenging time! Cheers guys and gals! See more
