24.01.2022 Chris Shearer, On-site Engineering Support AGL Loy Yang mine is having a major 2 month maintenance outage on one of their bucket wheel excavators D15. The outage works include a major electrical upgrade including new switch rooms, and mechanical works such as replacement of the bucket wheel and drive gearbox. BMT WBM machinery group Melbourne have been involved in various aspects of the engineering planning and execution in conjunction with the AGL outage team, including a secondment of Chris Shearer into the team.
