25.01.2022 Once again the Blue Mountains Woodturners feature in the Australian Woodworker magazine with president, Jan Pennell, featuring on the cover with her amazing trembleurs. Jan has created what could be a world record trembleur at 2.1 metres long with stems of 3mm wide - a remarkable achievement. See http://www.skillspublish.com.au/Skills%20AWW%20Current.htm
25.01.2022 Yet another chess set ready to be delivered to a local school. The Blue Mountains Woodturners have made and donated approximately 12 such sets to local primary school throughout the Blue Mountains. Made from locally sourced timber the pieces are about 600mm high and take up to 3 months to make. Members meet at the Blue Mountains Woodcraft Centre at Mt Riverview each Thursday to work on these sets and other wood craft projects. Anyone interested in wood craft should come along and join in (just behind the RFS near the water tank).
25.01.2022 Sometimes the Club experiences a miracle and the new Secretary receives acknowledgement from above...... The "Fickle Finger of Fate" was built by the members as one of their "special projects" and might be seen at special locations in the very near future.

05.01.2022 An annual event for the Blue Mountains Woodturners is their Christmas Toy project. Members, throughout the year make hundreds, yes HUNDREDS,of toys which are donated to a local charity or support group. This year was just as successful as previous years with several hundred splendid toys heading towards some needy folk in the Mountains. This Christmas the receiving group was the Mountains Support Group. The attached pix show the goods and the happy recipients as well as President Jan and toy Co-ordinator Des.
03.01.2022 A refurbished "Hand of God". Looks great. If you are interested in Woodturning consider joining us at our club house in Mt Riverview, just behind the RFS, next to the water tower. We meet 1st Saturday of the month and every Thursday. Lessons are available for members and a full workshop for you to use. Advice and instructions freely given by well credentialed members. Demonstrations, by some of the best woodturners in the country, are a regular event on our calendar.
03.01.2022 Take the opportunity this Saturday (12th) to visit the Woodturners' stand at the Glenbrook Spring Festival. Watch the lathes in action and view (or even buy) some of the amazing items created by their members. Maybe even make inquiries about joining this creative group.
01.01.2022 Want to know more about this great club? Check out the "Club Drumbeat" in the latest (Jan/feb 2016) edition of Australian Woodworker.
