24.01.2022 Shared from Streaker Marine - a major sponsor of our Club. A good opportunity here and at the same time supporting our sponsor during these difficult times.

20.01.2022 36th Annual Gala Fishing Competition and the 2020 BMYS Twilight Snapper Fishing Competition - Cancelled. The 2020 BMYS Gala Fishing Competition scheduled to be held 14-15 November and the 2020 BMYS Twilight Snapper Fishing Competition scheduled to be held on 25 November have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The Government released roadmap suggests that outdoor gatherings will be limited to a maximum of 50 persons after 22 November 2020 assuming low infection n...umbers continue. These competitions are expected to exceed the 50-person limit. For these reasons it has been decided to cancel these two competitions for this year. In respect of other fishing competitions, the Club continues to monitor the Victorian COVID-19 restrictions. If it is practical to conduct a future fishing event, then members will be advised. The Club’s normal practice is to avoid running competitions in December and January to avoid clashes with member’s other Christmas/New Year events and holidays. In the meantime, please stay safe and look after one another.

11.01.2022 BMYS Children’s Christmas Party 2020 - Sunday 6th December (From the BMYS Website - www.bmys.com.au) This fun day was celebrated in two sessions to help accommodate the high demand for the day. ... It was great to see so many kids enjoying the Christmas experience. We had Lisa, a magnificent face painter working all day making sure every child got their favourite image painted. Unicorns were the choice of the girls and superheros for the boys. Michael, our balloon artist was hard at work creating fairies, aliens, flowers, reindeer hats and catered to the many other requests from the children. Corey from The Mushrooms had the kids dancing and jumping for joy with his antics. Kevin Moore made fairy floss to the delight of the young and not so young. Tracy Baksa dressed up as a princess and had the little girls in awe. The highlight of the day was having Santa arrive in a bright yellow 1923 Rolls Royce. Santa had the kids squealing with excitement. He went upstairs and made sure every child received a gift. Photos were taken and lifelong memories for families were made. Seeing families come together at the BMYS again was a feeling that normality is coming back into our lives. A big thank you goes to Kevin Moore for organising the day as he has for many years. Thanks also to the Social Committee members who helped make the day a success, they were Kim, Leigh, Tracy and Sandra. Thanks also goes to Anthony and his staff setting up and working the day.
