03.01.2022 This was our last Friday Education Networking segment, presented by Ryan from Voltec Services - Townsville Electrician Understatement of the day: The worlds a crazy place right now. People dont make good decisions based on fear or anger. Theres plenty of that going on all around the world today in the news and social media. Try not to succumb to it. ... In the middle of a serious challenge, its hard sometimes to cut through the noise that surrounds us. But there are opportunities. To see those opportunities, you need to have a singular focus on executing a plan. History shows us that in difficult times, one of two things generally happen to groups of people. They either become frozen in fear or they become focused on solutions. Fear vs Focus. We cannot change what is going on around us, but we can change how we respond to it. Now is not the time to stop networking its just the time to do it differently for a while. Keep doing the things you need to do to stay safe and healthy of course. Thats important, but set aside your fear and focus on what you can do right now to work your way through this very difficult situation. If youre like many people, you probably have some free time on your hands. Use it effectively. Activate your network. Reach out to people who you know are BNI members and see how they can help you. Find out if there is anything you can do for them. After all you cant help everybody, but you can help somebody. And dont forget, its OK for you to ask for help also. The people in your BNI group are your colleagues. They are people that you have a level of trust with. Its OK to share your needs with them. This is also a great time to pour into yourself. Turn Netflix off and work on the business plan you intend to execute when this is over. Read books that will stimulate and motivate you to do the things you need to do when this is done. Spend time learning on BNI University and its a great time to get some extra CEUs in. You can still visit BNI. Businesses need BNI more than they realise right now. Well get through this. It may not be easy but we will come out stronger and youll likely be ahead of your competition after this is all over. This is an opportunity to keep your business going when others dont have access to the powerful network that we do. Were going to come through the other side, and well be a stronger organization when we do. We will be stronger because we are all part of a community that shares a powerful core value of Givers Gain. Youre going to have a business tomorrow because of the actions youre taking today. If we all lost our money tomorrow, the best thing we could have would be trust. What is a sure fire way to build trust with other business people? BNI of course. So to wrap it up the question I pose to you is: What seeds can you sew in the coming weeks?
