21.01.2022 Kalinga Park Usage Following the repair of the bowlers 'run ups', impending pitch up grades and planned upgrades to the Kalinga Park surface. BNJCA has worked with Brisbane City Council to install signage to prevent 'unauthorised' use. It is hoped that this signage will prevent 'unauthorised' usage that frequently damages the synthetic wickets and playing surface incurring costing repairs and preventing disruptions to availability.... Furthermore, the management Committee recognise the importance of working closely with the local community to ensure that BNJCA is at all times seen as a positive Ambassador for cricket. The Management Committee looks forward to the continued improvement of Kalinga Park through the soon to be implemented mowing schedule and combination with BCC to better manage the turf surface through aeration, scarification, repair and maintenance. Including the levelling of the areas along the side of the wickets to prevent balls deflecting upward from the concrete edges of the pitch which is planned for late March 2021.

19.01.2022 KALINGA PARK - Surface Repair The Association and BCC are conducting work on the fields at Kalinga Park to repair ground subsidence and stabilising the old turf block. This work impacts Kalinga Park 2, 3 and 4 only has resulted in several areas being fenced off to restrict access. As is always the case with the installation of new turf watering during the early stage is crucial to ensure success fun uptake. Therefore please ensure that you do not disturb the watering systems that are in place to support the growth of the new turf.

17.01.2022 13/11/20 There has been a game moved in u11 Raymont Rnd 6 14 Nov. Albany Creek Diamonds vs Valley Sky is now on Jubilee Park 2 @ 7:15AM

15.01.2022 UPDATE - KALINGA PARK Over last month we have been giving the new turf on the 'run ups' or Kalinga Park 2, 3 & 5 plenty of TLC with a watering program and fencing. As you can see from the photos the new turf has done particularly well under this program of care. BUT ... It is still only new turf and it remains vulnerable at this early stage of its development. The Draw Committee has protected it to some extent by scheduling younger age groups on these pitches for the first rounds on the season. The 'run ups' are a bit longer and heavy under foot as a result but it is just a little too soon to cut the grass and stress it out in the current dry conditions. In keeping with this thought please don't let the kids hack bowling marks into the turf and avoid the temptation to get all enthusiastic and give it a little mow yourself. The fields will receive their first hair cut very soon and the new pitches will also be installed as the process of upgrading Kalinga Park begins.

02.01.2022 Unfortunately this disrespect for other peoples property is going on everywhere. It costs thousands to repair and the cost is born by clubs and parents making playing sport more expensive. We implore anyone who may have seen or heard anything regarding this to please contact the Burpengary Cricket Club.
