23.01.2022 Have you had all the fluids checked in your vehicle? Engine oil isn’t the only fluid that needs attention. Transmission fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid, radiator coolant, and power steering fluid all need to be changed regularly. Regular fluid check-ups will make sure your car components run smoothly and will make you aware of leaks or other issues before they cause major problems.

15.01.2022 Is a Queensland Safety Certificate (previously called a roadworthy) a comprehensive mechanical inspection that ensures a vehicle is in a good, reliable condition? Unfortunately, no. In reality, it only covers specific items that confirm the vehicle being inspected meets the minimum basic safety standards. It does not identify all vehicle defects. So, even with a valid safety certificate, the vehicle may have hidden faults or major mechanical issues.... When purchasing a used vehicle, even one with a Queensland Safety Certificate, make sure to get a professional pre-purchase inspection so you don’t end up with unforeseen issues.

05.01.2022 Is your air-conditioner ready for the summer heat? If not, give us a call and our technician will thoroughly inspect the system, checking for leaks, system pressures, the condition of the compressor, receiver drier and condenser and the overall operation of your air conditioning system to ensure you're nice and cool as you drive through the hot months ahead. https://www.bkmotors.com.au/contact-us/

05.01.2022 The piping hot days of summer are just around the corner, so make sure your aircon is working perfectly. Levels of refrigerant gas can reduce over time and systems will need to be re-gassed. Before we carry out this service, we will check with ultraviolet light for any obvious signs of gas leaking. We will then evacuate the system and add a small amount of gas and test the operation of the air conditioning. If the visible components appear to be all working correctly, and no signs of leaking, we will then re-gas the system. Sometimes leaks can be minuscule, or in hard to detect places like the evaporator. They may take weeks or months to become apparent. Need your aircon checked out? Give us a call at (07) 4661 2600.

01.01.2022 7 Ways to Protect Your Tyres as the weather warms up: 1. As soon as the hot season begins, have your tyres checked by a mechanic to make sure the pressure is correct. 2. Invest in a high-quality tyre gauge so you can accurately monitor your tyre pressure throughout the summer.... 3. Try to avoid driving during the hottest parts of the day. 4. Park in the shade so it’s easier for your tyres to cool down. 5. Before you start to drive, test the temperature of your tyres with your hand. If they’re hot, wait until they cool down. 6. Drive slower than normal. Greater speed = greater friction = greater heat. 7. Replace worn tyres. Thin tyres are more susceptible to blow-outs. Photo by Arno Senoner
