24.01.2022 Yes, so many times as men we hear, man up stop crying stop being a wimp etc. Breaking that cycle of toxic masculinity starts with healing our own personal traumas, showing support for one another, and normalizing emotional support for our men.
24.01.2022 Call us to book in!
18.01.2022 Suicide prevention is everyone's business. Community suicide prevention networks play a key role in coordination, collaboration and awareness-raising in communi...ties and help to build capacity in all residents to look after the wellbeing of their loved ones. Suicide prevention networks also provide a voice for communities that inform needs and create solutions specific to them. Your community is unique and you know best about how to help! If you want to see change in how this important issue is addressed in Coffs Harbour, come along and share your thoughts and ideas. 18.01.2022 On November 19 International Men’s Day celebrates worldwide the positive value men bring to the world, their families, and communities. We highlight positive ro...le models and raise awareness of men’s well-being. Our theme is Making a difference for men and boys. Come and celebrate international men’s day in Coffs Harbour by connecting and sharing with a number of the community organisations that contribute and support the overall wellbeing of men. Mentors for Men, Lifeline, Coffs Harbour City Council, Men’s Shed, and CH Neighbourhood Centre will come together at the Harbourside markets this Sunday, November 22nd. We will offer the chance for people wishing to join and learn about the tradition of the sharing circles, and the power they offer to listen, share, and connect. #mentorsformen

15.01.2022 For Days When You’re not Okay Sometimes, you're not okay. And that's okay. Sometimes, you don't know why you're not okay, and that's okay, too. Sometimes, you d...o know, but there is nothing you can do to change things, and that's okay. Sometimes there is, but you are not ready to act yet. And that's okay. Taking care of yourself when you're not okay, is important. Self-care involves much more than pretty-smelling salt-baths, or treating yourself to a new toy. Real self-care is an ongoing series of action-oriented tasks that consistently send an important message to the self, others, and the universe-at-large: WHAT HAPPENS TO ME, MATTERS. THAT WHAT I FEEL, WHAT I LOVE, WHAT I DESIRE DEEP WITHIN IS WORTH PROTECTING. AND I WILL. I AM. A cycling series of self-care actions you can take on a regular basis to send these loving and empowering messages to yourself may include, but is most certainly not limited to: Doing the dishes. Balancing your checkbook. Meal planning and preparing. Brushing your teeth, hair and skin. Getting dressed. Walking barefoot. Stretching. Singing. Wailing. Talking. Staying silent. Writing. Creating anything at all. Withholding judgement. Doing the laundry. Going grocery shopping. Affirming the present moment, and everything that sits with you there. Smelling a flower. Remembering reverence. Recognizing beauty wherever you find it. Dancing. Dipping your body in water. Filing your paperwork. Addressing any physical discomfort or health concerns. Making an appointment, and showing up for it. Making a date, and showing up for it. Making plans with friends, and showing up for it. Drinking good water. Some days, when you're not okay, it may take all the strength you can muster, to do one thing to love yourself. And that's okay. Wash those clothes. Do those dishes. It's okay. Maybe you can do more tomorrow. Maybe not. And that's okay.
