23.01.2022 Hello Boambee Pubic School Community, So far we have 227 responses to the Family Reading Survey - 50 responses from Years 5-6 students... - 80 responses from Years 3-4 students - 97 responses from Years K-2 students If the 227 responses 56% are for girls and 44% were for boys. Whilst we are still doing some deep analysis of the data, the survey responses are also very useful for our teachers from day to day. Here is an example of how teachers can use this information at a class level, this message is from 1F: 'Thank you to all those families who responded to the Family Reading Survey. After having a look at the data, I was able to see that many of the students in 1F listed Aaron Blabey as their favourite author or some of his titles, as their favourite books. He has many popular books including the 'Pig The Pug' collection, the 'Thelma The Unicorn' collection, 'The Bad Guys' collection and 'Piranhas Don't Eat Bananas', just to list a few. Using this data and knowing what each child likes to read or listen to, means I am able to engage them in texts that excite them. Here are 1F enjoying Aaron Blabey's, 'Pig The Winner', during Crunch and Sip, outside earlier today.'

10.01.2022 What an outstanding job our Passive Play Club Students have done initiating their first activities and improving our playground sandpit. You can see in the pictures that Mr Long has done a great job of renovating the sand pit. The P and C have also donated $500 form the Pie Drive towards the purchase of new sandpit play equipment and the students helped purchase this equipment last week. Included is a photo of the students in Mr Maunder's office researching and purchasing this new sandpit equipment. Yesterday when the Passive Play Launched their Toy Car Fun focus they also oversaw the new play equipment going out for use. The resulting joy is obvious in the photos attached. Mrs Rowe is the mentor for The Passive Play Club - Thank you Mrs Rowe!

08.01.2022 Road Safety We have attached the relevant road rules that you need to be aware of for our school. The most important points are: - making sure you do not stop/queue (even momentarily) behind the top "No Stopping" sign. This sign is the one nearly at the top of the hill (photo attached)... - making sure you never park in the bus bay during the designated times Please ensure you share this information with your family. Quite often grandparents and other family members doing pick up don't know these road rules The best option for pick-ups is to come between 3 and 3:10. This ensures buses are gone, traffic is less and you have more options for parking if you wish to avoid queuing. Parking is available on the southern side of Lindsays Road after 3:00pm when buses have gone. We will also send home more detailed information with your children in a note, keep an eye for this.

08.01.2022 Our Cross Country is under way, 8/9 Boys are on their second lap and the here is the 8/9 Girls start !

07.01.2022 Last week our Citizenship Club and Our Environment Club gave up their lunchtime to do a voluntary clean up of the bike path near our school. There were also many students who were not part of the clubs that put their hands to help out with this. We are very proud of our students and our staff for wanting to contribute to our local environment and our community. Well done Mr Shipman, Mr Tait and Mr Griffin who spent significant time making sure that our students were supported and safe during this activity. Thank to the ICT Club for partnering with us on this to develop the movie!

07.01.2022 This week KL started learning all about bee-bots! KL started learning how to program the bee-bot and how to make the bee-bot move around the mat.
