25.01.2022 Postponement of BOA Super 8: 5th Edition Hi everyone, after careful consideration and consultation with the venue, Thiago (our matchmaker and technical advisor), and the athletes, BOA Super 8 will be postponed once again. With NSW's situation worsening and Victoria still in lockdown, meaning SA and WA athletes would need to quarantine upon returning home after the competition (something that is most definitely not reasonable to ask of them) it is obvious that we can't promote... the type of event you expect from BOA Super 8. Instead of playing with the dates for a week or two and having to postpone again, we feel that the safest option is to postpone to November 21st at the same venue, with the same ticketing and as close to the advertised card as possible. All purchased tickets are valid for the new date, however, if the new date does not suit, an immediate full refund is available upon request (credit card processing time still applies). Thank you for your tremendous support and I look forward to seeing you later in the year.

24.01.2022 BOA Open 2018 A look back at The BOA Open. (The Super 8 Highlights to come) Our first foray into running an Open Tournament. Definitely a massive learning experience for us with a lot of things to improve on should we do the second one. Thank you to all who participated in the event.

19.01.2022 Change of Date: Due to Vic, SA and NSW lockdown and the hard borders between many states we have made the decision to move BOA Super 8: 5th Edition to September 5th, 2021 at the same venue. All tickets will remain valid, however if this mew date does not suit you, please contact us via the ticketing site and request a full refund, please do so no later than the 1st of August.... Thank you all for your support. Competitors you will have inbox messages from us last night or today with the new date.

16.01.2022 Statement Regarding the Rule Sets Used Saturday Night. Whilst the feedback regarding Saturday night's event has been overwhelmingly positive, there have been 3 messages/comments directed to myself and the page regarding the alleged irregularities in rules between the weigh-ins and Saturday night. These were the announcements at the weigh-ins which was attended by all but two competitors (Robert, Tegan and Thalison).... 8 of the 10 Super Fights are conducted under ADCC Rules with some being 10 Minutes and some 6 Minutes as agreed upon when matches were made. As agreed, the Superfight would have no overtime period and would go to Ref's decision. For the Tournament, as advertised and advised will be held under regular ADCC rules with the only exception being the final will be 10 Minutes plus 2 by 5 Minute Over Times and as normal ADCC Rules, Negative Points will begin at the start of the final match. The Quarters and Semi-Finals will be 10 Minutes with 1 X 5 Minute overtime, then going to the Ref's decision. There are two IBJJF Rules matches, the Black Belt match, 10 Minutes, however, the Brown Belt match was agreed by the two contestants to be 6 Minutes. The first 3 BOA events had modified rules which were used for BOA and conducted in the GI. However, the decision was made that due to the NO GI competition, we use an established and popular rule set with no modifications except for the finals Time Limit.
