25.01.2022 Thank you Janet for your great comments, I’m sure Jordan won’t mind the slight slip up with his name

25.01.2022 Another reminder to check your trailers at boat ramps right around the state. We have received a report that the u-clamps have been removed from the axle of a boat trailer at Dee Lagoon.

24.01.2022 A further reminder to all boaties to to always check your trailer coupling and wheel nuts before putting the boat back on your trailer. An incident occurred tod...ay at the Orford ramp where wheel nuts were loosened on a trailer and fortunately the owner noticed a cluncking sound after a hundred metres and managed to tighten them before serious damage had occurred. 19.01.2022 Police are investigating after a boat trailer was tampered with at Gordon in the states South, causing significant damage to the vessels motors. Someone unco...upled a boat trailer, including the safety chain, while it was parked. Once the vessel was loaded the trailer disconnected from the vehicle and rolled into the water, causing severe damage to the vessels motors. It also caused a severe hazard for other people in the area as a fully loaded boat trailer came loose from the vehicle. Anyone going boating this Easter is reminded to double check their couplings as a precaution. Anyone with information about the incident at Gordon is asked to call police on 131 444 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. See more

18.01.2022 What could an extra pot cost you? On Friday 16 November 2018, a recreational vessel was intercepted in the Recherche Bay area. Marine Police will allege that th...e two male occupants of the vessel were in possession of more than the permitted number of rock lobster pots. The recreational fishers were issued infringement notices totalling $1630 for the offence of use or set more than one rock lobster pot. The excess fishing equipment was seized. Police would like to remind recreational fishers that it is an offence to set or use a pot not registered to them or be in possession of more than one rock lobster pot.

16.01.2022 It is happening again. A report of trailer tampering an hour ago at Boomer Bay. Three cars and trailers affected. We had reports also last week from Pirates B...ay, White Beach and also the Prosser. Can everyone please be careful and ensure that you check your entire trailer including wheel nuts when you get back from a days boating.

14.01.2022 Looks like the trailer tampering is happening again. This occurred at the Rosny ramp on Friday. As you can see from the photo it could have been nasty as the b...oat was in excess of 6m. The boat owner returned to the ramp to find the trailer hitch pin had been removed, the handle pulled up and the pin then replaced with the coupling placed insecurely on the tow ball. No matter which boat ramp you use, always check your trailer coupling before putting the boat back on the trailer. Email [email protected] if you see or suspect any anti-social behaviour at a boat ramp or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

14.01.2022 Now that we are all able to get out on our boats again, why not put yourself and the crew through the 30 second challenge? Please watch the video, and congratulations to the manufacturers of the Life Cell used in the clip who have won an International Marine Safety Award.

04.01.2022 The attached photos sent through to MAST show the damage discovered following a fishing trip out of the Trial Bay boat ramp, south of Kettering on Saturday. The... owners returned to find one trailer tyre and one car tyre slashed. It is very disturbing that someone thinks this is the way to behave. The local police have been informed. 03.01.2022 Recreational scallop season kicks off this Saturday 24 March. All State waters are open except the DEntrecasteaux Channel which remains closed. Reminders: ...licence scallop gauge good weather! Note about the photo - yes you can eat scallops at sea as long as you keep your shells and bring them ashore. Any scallops consumed count toward your daily bag limit. Different rules apply for abalone (no shucking at sea) and rock lobster (you can cut up and eat one at sea per licence holder).

03.01.2022 People should be aware that old life jackets which do not conform to legislation are being sold on social media and various buy and sell websites. Please do not buy a life jacket on social media outlets unless it is to the AS4758 standard.

02.01.2022 Some interesting footage from the incident at the entrance to the Swan River near Swanwick last weekend. Just a reminder for all those crossing barways to be aware of the conditions and the necessity to check the weather forecast, not only wind but expected sea conditions.

01.01.2022 Be Boatwise there are NO second chances. Take just a few minutes to watch this MAST safety video on flares. You never know when you might need to use them. Its too late to read instructions when you are up to your knees in water.
