23.01.2022 Every reef boat/liveaboard and even a few superyachts are now docked in the Marina for the duration of this beer flu. To all our friends (and guests who have become friends) from across Australia and around the world - we'll see you again when it's over. In the meantime, stay safe, keep your distance and remember the light at the end of this tunnel is always colourful when we look after each other. Stay afloat, take care.

23.01.2022 Wow. A week of conferencing. Laughs. Sunsets. Business. Not so much business. Some really meaningful stuff. A lot of seafood. Other not so meaningful stuff. Great company. Great seafood for the many that indulged. Privileged to host the Yumpla/C-Sky guests aboard for functions, accommodation and lots of general catch ups and drinks. Thanks to all for a memorable week. See y'all next year.

22.01.2022 Well done all. The old girl is quite chuffed that she played host and classroom to Peter Bickerton and a number of his students in a pretty intense couple of weeks training.

21.01.2022 Thanks to all our guests who enjoyed their stay afloat so much they said nice things about us in booking.com reviews. Lots more work to do on the old girl yet, mainly some colour and art touches throughout. We're taking our inspiration from some other homes around the region. Thanks again everyone.

19.01.2022 The way we start and finish a day now that the lights have been turned on. We're back in operation and look forward to welcoming you aboard. Beer Flu plan in place. If you want to get away, email us direct for special prices (everyone except for our Victorian friends). Come and 'Stay Afloat' - Cairns is OPEN.

18.01.2022 Two sides to the wet season story in Cairns Waterfront. Spectacular. Awe Inspiring. Dry. Gorgeous. Take a bow Cairns you've turned on a beautiful twilight for tonight's guests.

10.01.2022 A morning of contrasts. We may have seen the last of the cruise ships for a while. The bat fish aquarium under the boat though continues to grow. As do the weeds on the old girl. Corporate cruise booked on the 26th March to Fitzroy Island will clean the weeds, let's just hope our fish can keep up.

07.01.2022 The old girl did well.

06.01.2022 Job well done. The old girl feels a little friskier with a clean bottom. Steaming back to Cairns this morning at a blistering 7 knots. Evicted the 9 stowaway crayfish living under the boat as well. At least they now have a home at Bird Shit Rock (official title and we can see why) on idyllic Fitzroy Island.

06.01.2022 FLOAT YOUR BOAT WEEKEND SALE - Fri 21, Sat 22, Sun 23 Feb. The beer related virus and cancellation has opened up a weekend trip to Fitzroy Island on the old girl. She still has to go and get some work on her bottom, but the crew get really bored with each other's company. We're inviting any and all of our friends in Cairns/Tablelands to join us at a special rate. Just $250 a cabin for both Friday and Saturday night, Happy Hour (or 3) Friday night drinks (beer & wine supplied), Saturday trip to Fitzroy, transfer to the Island and back on board in the afternoon for a BBQ dinner and drinks. Home Sunday at noon. Email bookings and enquiries to [email protected] Not available on any online agents.

04.01.2022 What a year it's been. Welcomed first guests aboard in torrential rain on Boxing Day 2018. Went through two cyclones' repeat performances. Got drenched in a four month wet season. Then welcomed over 300 guests from across Australia, Germany, USA, Italy, China, Mongolia, Switzerland, Canada, England, France, Japan, Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Argentina and Chile. Special guests aboard this weekend. Stay safe everyone and always stay afloat. Merry Christmas.

03.01.2022 It was appropriate that the first major weekend conference hosted by (the very proud) old girl was for our new partners, advisory board members and investors. Yumpla Ltd has merged with Cairns Dive Centre taking the initial steps to create the first authentic Indigenous owned Reef Tourism operation in this country's history. Day 1 on the Boatel in Cairns waterfront was work and play. Day 2 was more of the same on Fitzroy Island Resort, Queensland and Foxy's Bar, Fitzroy Island, Cairns
