23.01.2022 We hope everyone is taking care of themselves and their loved ones. We’re trying to do more of our business online during this time. We've put a new survey up ...online and would like to invite you to fill it out if possible. We’re planning for the future and would love to hear your thoughts on a range of topics, from future management to population growth and adapting to climate change. See here: https://www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au//7355/s/7151/view.html The survey will be open for the next month and takes about 10 minutes to fill out. Please feel free to share the link with your networks. Working together, we can develop an informed, balanced, strategic plan and ensure our waterways remain pristine for generations to come. #gcwaterways

22.01.2022 Don't drive there...boat there! - https://mailchi.mp/boatgoldcoast/dont-drive-thereboat-there One of the greatest perks of living on the Gold Coast is going out for lunch or dinner by boat. We are fortunate that many private marinas and waterfront developments recognise the economic benefit of customers arriving by watercraft, and have invested in waterfront infrastructure to make boaters feel welcome. #waterwayscity #goldcoast

20.01.2022 Happy Valentine's Day Boating - https://mailchi.mp/boa/happy-valentines-day-boating-1140717 The notion of romance brings about different feelings and emotions for each individual. For some, relaxing with their loved one at home having cheese board and wine is quintessential; for other couples, a day on their tinny, fishing and having a laugh are what light their fire. With romance in mind, here are some ideas to create a unique romantic celebration with your partner.

15.01.2022 Is boating the "drug" of choice? - https://mailchi.mp/boatgoldco/is-boating-the-drug-of-choice At the opening of this year's Sydney International Boat Show, Darren Vaux, president of Autralia's Boatinng Industry Association, proposed that the industry should adopt a universal promotional message: Boating: The Drug of Choice. Referring to the book of American marine biologist Wallace Nichols, The Blue Mind (2014), Vaux indicated that boating, with its obvious attachment to water, is the way to "switch off" from a stress-free world.
13.01.2022 The McLaren Legacies - https://mailchi.mp/boatgoldcoast/the-mclaren-legacies Iconic Gold Coast landmarks, such as Mariner’s Cove and South Stradbroke Island, are well known by locals and tourists alike. 09.01.2022 Breaking a few barriers by presenting about our boating culture to a conference with environmental scientists. What better way to present than to take them on a boat ride Toni Cannard (@TopcatToni) Tweeted: Didn't expect a virtual boat ride during a conference... good talk and some interesting stats like did you know 2 million Australians have boat licences #qcc2019 https://t.co/ywJ9J1Uy04
09.01.2022 Imagine spending 336 days alone at sea in a 28-foot vessel that was purely designed for rowing. We are not talking about a traditional style boat you know, the one with a galley and comfy cabin to bunk down in when the sails are set to hove to so that our bodies can rest, and where we can catch a little shut eye. This boat that I will introduce you to has no motor and no sails, but she does have some well-crafted oars.
08.01.2022 Major boating events have been either cancelled or postponed, obviously due to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19 virus. Rising up to the challenge, Riviera Boats have launched an online boat show where people can inspect a Riviera or Belize luxury motor yacht through a variety of options including a personal virtual tour via Face Time or Skype, email a video with commentary or in person if possible.
08.01.2022 Where will you be anchoring this summer? - https://mailchi.mp//where-will-you-be-anchoring-this-summer Anchoring is one of the things we all think we do well, but a few aide memoirs and prompts can never go astray. Indeed they can help you to have a great time boating, no matter where you go or what you like to do. Ultimately, it is more than an essential part of your seamanship. It keeps you, your crew, vessel and those around you out of harm’s way.

06.01.2022 https://mailchi.mp/boat/reviving-the-spirit-of-water-skiing It is a surprise to many to learn that the original Water Ski Show was the very foundation of Sea World as we know it today. Established in 1957 as The Surfers Paradise Ski Gardens and situated where Emerald Lakes Golf Course now lies, the Water Ski Show expanded to an entire water-based theme park in just over a decade. When Sea World opened its gates in 1971, the Water Ski Show was one of the main draw cards.
