25.01.2022 Sunwater recreation areas, dams, lakes and weirs will be closed to public use from Tuesday 31 March 2020 (midnight tonight) until further notice. This includes...: day trips camping land and water-based activities swimming, boating, skiing and fishing facilities toilet and shower blocks, picnic areas, play equipment and look-out areas. Our primary concern is the health and safety of our people and the community - we must do all we can to limit the spread of COVID-19. Sunwater will continue essential operational activities at dams, lakes and weirs including on-lake surveillance and monitoring. Visit bit.ly/2QW4ybV

25.01.2022 Hey all.....as you are aware COVID-19 is affecting everyone at the moment and businesses are having to close their doors per federal governments orders. Unfortunately we are now one of those businesses, as we can not maintain the required 1.5m social distancing laws on either PWC or boat we can no longer conduct practical sessions. At this point we have closed all scheduled practical sessions until June but of course we will continue to monitor the sitiation to see if this n...eeds to be extended. You can still do our Online Theory Course which is the first part of your boat and/or jet ski licence course and those that have completed this and affected by our closure will be given first priority allocation to the practical sessions when we recommence Remember this is for your safety and the safety of out team and hopefully get through this quicker so we can all get back to our goal of getting people able to safely enjoy our beautiful waterways and recreational boating way of life We will update as soon as we know, but until then, stay safe and see you on the other side Cheers The Boat Licence Brisbane Team

24.01.2022 Thieves broke into our club last night (05/02/2020) and stole the safety boat in the attached photo. If you have seen the boat, or have information as to its whereabouts please contact the police. Thank you

22.01.2022 Has anyone seen one of these?

14.01.2022 Good advice this

14.01.2022 When you are fishing these holidays make sure you don’t use supermarket prawns as bait as they could introduce diseases into our marine environment. Buy your bait from a bait shop, service station or catch your own https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/checkyourbait

14.01.2022 Queensland is working towards getting our community back to normal while ensuring we continue to slow the spread of COVID-19. Queensland Health has advised it i...s essential that you continue to do the right thing and abide by the restrictions that are in place https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au/ From 15 May 2020, public gatherings for recreational purposes, such as fishing, are limited to 10 people. This applies to fishing from shore as well as on a boat. If you do choose to go fishing, stay within 150 km of your home, keep 1.5 metres from others and practise good hygiene. State Government boat ramps currently remain open, and Seqwater and Sunwater dams reopened on 2 May. Check with local authorities about other fishing locations before you head out fishing. For any queries about boating, please contact Maritime Safety Queensland (Department of Transport and Main Roads (Queensland))

13.01.2022 Boaties, you should only go out on the water if it's essential. Essential reasons you may need to use your boat could be to: exercise (including kayaking/s...ailing/paddling); fish for food; travel to and from work (or to get essentials like groceries or medicines); provide care or support to an immediate member of your family. If you do need to head out, stick to your local waters and remember social distancing always applies at boat ramps and on your boat. You should be in your boat alone, or with no more than one other person who you don't already live with. If it’s not essential, stay ashore #stayhomestaysafe #MaritimeSafetyQld

13.01.2022 Good afternoon All, Some advance warning to Boaters and locals, on Friday the 6th November the Carpark located West of our Coast Guard building (as per picture ...highlighted in red) will be closed between 3am and 5pm. Could you please share this post and let people know. The boat ramp will still be accessible however there will be very limited car parks. We recommend using the boat ramp beside the Caravan park. Any questions please let us know. Once again PLEASE SHARE THIS POST.

13.01.2022 Check these out if you are looking for a new boat

12.01.2022 How’s this for fun and precision driving

12.01.2022 Great stuff by Redcliffe Coast Guard.... pass it on to start using. Remember if you have a VHF radio on your boat but don’t have a marine radio licence these guys run regular courses....

11.01.2022 How great is this..... get out and create your own memories

11.01.2022 what a great idea....but don't forget your wash

10.01.2022 You can still get on the water to fish for your family

07.01.2022 WEATHER ALERT: severe weather and king tides are forecast to impact the Queensland coast over the coming days. Skippers should prepare by: checking their boat... regularly using suitable lines to ensure their boat is secured properly checking all bilge pumps are working and all self-draining holes are clear leaving your contact details on your boat in case it comes adrift and you need to be contacted. For more info on how to prepare, visit: https://bit.ly/3bffpGI #MaritimeSafetyQld

05.01.2022 Hey all...hope you are doing well in the current environment. Some good news from the Government yesterday easing COVID -19 restrictions on recreational boating...BUT....unfortunately it doesn't mean we can get back to the practical assessments for boat and jet ski licences. This is because the 1,5m social distancing requirement is still in place which means the Master of the training vessel can not maintain a position to be able to take immediate control of the boat if required.....1,5m away from the throttle or helm just makes it impossible. Look out for future updates as we are provided to us by MSQ. Cheers Shaun

04.01.2022 To all the anglers out there

04.01.2022 We're back...! We have approval to start the practical assessments again with some strict requirements to manage Covid risk including smaller groups and wearing of PPE. Currently we are working at getting those that had their practical assessments suspended at the end of March rescheduled and through as soon as we can then bringing forward bookings made during the shutdown as well as new bookings where we can....thanks again for your patience during the shutdown and as we come to terms with a very different looking environment as we go forward Cheers

03.01.2022 Things are slowly getting back to normal which is great but please stick to the requirements so we don’t have to go backwards again. Stay posted for updates when we know we can start boat licence practical assessment again

03.01.2022 Hi guys....a serious one to share this time I'm afraid. This boat collided with a bridge and one of the crew was very seriously injured and nearly didn't get home....it is extremely important to maintain a safe speed and remember everyone is a lookout on the boat.....please don't let this happen to you...stay safe on the water to have fun...cheers

03.01.2022 Hi Guys....check out this video. This what you are required to be able to do o get your boat licence....cheers Shaun
