20.01.2022 Please use caution when conducting hazard reduction burns use common sense. Make sure fire breaks are down to mineral earth and you have some way of putting out the fire if need be such as a hose, fire fighting unit or knapsack. Remember brigades are available to do control burns on propertys for a small donation and can also come out and offer advice. Kind regards Steve B

18.01.2022 Just a quick update on the weather conditions for the weekend. DFES have issued a catastrophic fire conditions warning for today, with a big trough forecast to pass this afternoon bringing some hot, dry low pressure behind it. Please take care with whatever you're doing over the weekend. Stay mindful of the risk of fire, and if you see any signs of fire dont hesitate to make the 000 call and supply them with a location. Stay safe. Have a great weekend

17.01.2022 Hoping all our Cadets are enjoying their holidays. For those that are still in town, we will still be having a training session at the station tomorrow. See you there

13.01.2022 Today - (Tuesday 12th May) Boddington Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade will be conducting a Hazard Reduction Burn at a property located on Kalimna way between 1230pm and 6pm today. The purpose of the burn is to reduce the hazard posed by Bushfire to the community. The burn will be conducted in a manner that is safe and as environmentally friendly as possible, allowing for natural regeneration of native flora.... If you have questions or concerns about this burn please contact the Brigade.

07.01.2022 We have a variety of volunteer roles across WAfrom fighting fires in your community to a range of support roles.

06.01.2022 Why do fires burn faster uphill? As a fire travels uphill, there's less space between the flames and new fuel to burn. Radiant heat from the fire also prehe...ats the fuel in front of it, making the fuel easier to ignite. The steeper the land, the faster a bushfire will spread; for every 10 degrees in uphill slope, the speed of a fire will double. On the other hand, with fires moving downhill there's more distance between the flames and new fuel, so fires will spread more slowly.
