Life is like a book, you never know what the next page will tell you. The other day I finished another chapter: six weeks of adventure and internship in Australia. Ive surfed, practiced yoga, met awesome people and friends for life, explored the country and filled my days with happiness. No words or pictures can explain my trip. 19.01.2022 After a gruelling 4 months of grinding and growing I have the keys to the new shed This new shed will be the home of @connected.by and Bodhi Tree Surfboards, ...about 50mtrs to the beach as the crow flys. This move is the foundation result of an epic amount of hard work, dedication, and perseverance by the Connected By board members to make sure we rock it big time. Im frothing, so so frothing! At times I felt like I was being dragged across the reef in a pair of speedos but at every opportunity for a breathe I scrambled out the back knowing the bomb was on the horizon. 18.01.2022 2019 was an amazing year in the shed. There were ups and downs, amazing people, unexpected experiences, losses and gains, twists and turns in the road, and Bodhi Tree Surfboards turned 10 years old. In 2019 the most important thing that was created in the Bodhi Tree shed is a new adventure called Connected By.... Connected By is a charity created to support ex-service personnel, first responders and the general public to support and promote mental wellness through creative and challenging personal pursuits. Connected By will offer the same Bodhi Tree Surfboards workshop experience and overtime will grow to offer other exciting things so stay tuned. Bodhi Tree Surfboards and Connected By will share a home so if you have any questions about what we do please send them through. The big hurdle in 2019 was finding somewhere to call home, the epic news is were moving to the beach! Stay tuned and well let you where very soon, 2020 is going to rock! 04.01.2022 Bodhi Tree Surfboards Workshop is Closing Down. 10 years ago with 6 days of woodworking experience under my belt and no tools in my shed I had this buzz inside Id never felt before, in an instant I knew I wanted to build timber surfboards for the rest of my life. After 10 years of building boards and 6 years teaching people to build their own hollow wooden surfboards, paddleboards, and boogers, things are changing. Bodhi Tree Surfboards grew from using wheelie bins as workbe...nches to having 60 boards on the go at any one time, its been a hoot and Ive loved every minute of it. Over the course of living the Bodhi Tree Surfboards life I realised that as much as I loved building boards and other people love it too, in the end thats not what it was all about. I build boards and share it for the love of it, for work I create a space where people can just be themselves and learn and create something beautiful. I suppose in a way its not goodbye. its more like hello! It is with much excitement and great pleasure that I introduce you to Connected By Inc. Connected By is the best bits of the Bodhi Tree Surfboards Workshop with an Not-For-Profit twist. All of the workshops are leaving BTS and are forming the foundation of the new not-for-profit organisation that provides workshops to learn and move forward in creative ways. Bodhi Tree Surfboards will still be open for business to build bespoke one of a kind, make you wee in your wetty hollow wooden surfboards paddleboards and bodyboards for private corporate and charity clients, but if you want to build a board the workshop to call is Connected By.
