18.01.2022 Hey everyone .... Well, here we go again ...!!! Seven day lockdown as of midnight tonight finishing midnight next Thursday 3rd June .... Unbelievable .... As myotherapy is not considered an essential allied health provider, we again are prohibited from working ... ... Another kick in the teeth for those of us whose primary motivation is to help those in need and to improve their quality of life ... What I don’t get is why does the whole State have to be locked down ..? I know, whinging about it is not going to change a thing ..... but bloody hell it is unbelievably frustrating ... !! So I will have to cancel all appointments scheduled between now and next Friday ... hopefully they can be rescheduled... with any luck I’ll directly contact those of you who will be affected by this closure ... On a positive note .... The week long seminar I am involved with this week has been fantastic so far .. ... Some of the world’s leading educators, clinicians and therapists outlining their assessment approach and techniques for therapy when dealing with the problematic shoulder region .... It has been both comforting and eye opening so far ... Sooooo, with any luck and application, I should have a more finely tuned approach to both assessing and treating problem shoulders at the completion of this week’s seminar ... fingers crossed I’ll touch base with you all again as soon as there are any more developments in this crazy circuit breaker lockdown. Stay safe and stay well See you all soon Julian
17.01.2022 This Wed 21/11 marks the Australian opening and launch of Osteo Strong ... an amazingly simple and easy process for improving our bone density, balance, joint strength and integrity.... Using absolute state of the art equipment designed by a NASA engineer, you will see marked improvements in a very short time frame and only requires a 10minute per week commitment... Sounds crazy, but it works .. !! looking forward to the launch and a huge congratulations to all those involved
15.01.2022 Morning everyone, I hope you are all well and are coping with all the new measures we are now having to live with... we are certainly living through an unprecedented time in our lives. Well, as of today my practice is now closed, and will remain closed until such time as it is deemed safe to re-open ... This is a decision I have not made lightly and it is with deep regret that I am doing so. But it is necessary for me to do so. ... If this bloody virus is to be contained and controlled, we all have to make unpleasant and inconvenient changes to our way of life and our livelihoods. So in that context, I am at ease and content with closing my practice. I do have one exception though. If any of you find that you are in real strife .. i.e in spasm, severe physical compromise, had an accident or are is real need of treatment ... well of course I will be only too happy to help in whatever way I can. I do ask though that you comply with all our current health advisements .. 14 days quarantine after o/s travel, if you are suffering any flu like symptoms.. fever, congestion, sore throat, coughing .. that you please consider this before making a time with me for treatment. So please everyone, embrace the challenge we have ahead of us, make the best of what we can do and enjoy the changes and little things we can do each day. For me I plan to get into the garden ( shock, horror ..!! ) maybe do some fishing and definitely get wet and do some snorkeling and maybe some u/w photography ... with any luck ... For now, thats it, and will touch base soon. All my best Julian
15.01.2022 Well, we have had a mild easing in the restrictions courtesy of big Dan .. unfortunately it’s not of much good for me.... It seems that the only patients I’m allowed to see are those with an endorsed care plan .... NDIS, TAC, Workcover .... Absolutely no routine treatments at all ... There is a chance that this status may be reviewed earlier than originally indicated ... possibly 16/10/20 .. ... Let’s hope so ... So it would seem that I still need to find more of those annoying little jobs around the house that I have always put off .... No excuses for me for not getting into them anymore.. !!! But I will stress, If I can help any of you in any way... CALL ME. I will do what I can and give whatever advice I can to help you ... So please .... call Hope you are all coping and making the best of this time. Hopefully we will catch up soon Cheers Julian See more
15.01.2022 Well I’ve just received this from my association.... I’ve pasted the notification it’s entirety as I am completely flabbergasted, annoyed and in disbelief that this can actually be the case ..!!! Dog groomers, hairdressers are allowed to work ...... Chiros, physios, osteos and podiatrists are allowed to work ... Why on earth can’t myo’s and remedial therapists work ..?? On what basis have we been singled out ... ?? How has this distinction been allowed to perpetuate..?? I just can’t quite believe what is happening... What sort of regime are we being governed by ..?? It is so ridiculous, it’s laughable ... I know this sounds like a rant ... well it is ... I am so upset and frustrated by what is happening I just had to vent. I hope you are all well, a little happier with the gratuitous slight easing of restrictions, and are getting on with making the best of a crap situation. Again, I reiterate, if any of you need help in any way, contact me and I will do whatever I can to help. Be assured of that... OK .. Following is the notification from my association from this morning.. Great ... Update Regarding Restrictions in Metropolitan Melbourne Dear Julian, Further to our email this morning, we have now received confirmation from the Chief Allied Officer that massage therapy, remedial massage therapy and myotherapy are not included in the easing of restrictions this means that you are unable to return to routine services at this time. This is not the news any of us wanted to hear today and we are fully aware how devastating these restrictions have been for our metropolitan Melbourne members. At the end of this email is a table of support services that can be accessed by anyone who is experiencing financial issues, anxiety, stress or depression. The Chief Allied Health Officer also recognises and acknowledges how difficult this has been for you, our members, since the commencement of the Stage 4 restrictions for metro Melbourne, and the impacts of the restrictions on the provision of care and services and she personally appreciates the valued services to many in the community. The focus of staged restrictions has been on ensuring public safety and controlling the gradual increase in the movement of individuals within their community, including limiting the number of health practitioners who may be providing prolonged interpersonal care and services. The Chief Allied Health Officer has committed to keeping us updated and has also advised that at this point, it is likely further restrictions will be eased prior to a move to Third Step restrictions, which are stated to happen on or before 11.59pm 1 November, 2020. As your professional association we will continue to advocate on your behalf to have you returning to work earlier than the next goal post that is set for no longer than 12 days’ time, and will communicate any updates to you as they arise. Ann Davey, CEO Massage & Myotherapy Australia
14.01.2022 Hi everyone... Well....what a mad, crazy time it is with the coronavirus and the associated mayhem and chaos ... How disappointing it is to witness the appalling and selfish behaviour of what is a very small minority of people and the disgraceful profiteering by some.. Anyway enough of my rant ...!!... I just want to assure you all that it is business as usual for me at present... I have plenty of appointment times available in the coming weeks, so if you need a tune up just give me a buzz .. I would ask though, if you feel you have any symptoms.. fever, sore throat, heady, chest tightness, coughing ... any at all, or if you have traveled in a plane in the last 14 days, please cancel and reschedule your appt or schedule a new appt at a future time giving enough time for recovery... What we are going through is new for us all, and we will all get through it ok with a bit of patience and good humour... sit back and try to see the lighter side of it all ... Be well and all my best wishes Julian
13.01.2022 He had a lot of tattoos including words tattooed across his chest and was wearing torn denim jeans and had a large cut to his head.

10.01.2022 Morning everyone, Its been a few weeks since my last post ... been crook with a bout of the flu ... However we still have managed some fantastic explorations and adventures ... Shark Bay ... well, what an eco system that is ... It is so alive and healthy it beggars belief ... To start with in the southern end of the gulf is Hamelin Pool which is of itself quite amazing as the salinity of the sea is twice that of normal . Great, but what that has enabled is the unimpeded gro...wth of a living, prehistoric rock formation called Stomatalites.. it survives as its natural predators (fish)cant survive in such salty water ... but what is even more crazy is that these living, growing rocks are built up from a bio mat that is 3 Billion years old ... 3 billion years.... the earth is only 4 billion years old ... so this organism has been around for 75% of the time of earths existence... mind blowing ..!! Cormorants .... 6 million of them in Shark Bay eating 1.5 kgs of fish each and every day ... 9,000,000 kgs of fish daily ..!! Its gotta be a super healthy eco system to be able to support that level of out-take... on top of that you have a very large population of Dugongs, dolphins and pelagic fish of every variety ... it is so alive ..! At the northern tip of Shark Bay is the Francois Peron Nat Park ... what a magnificent park it is ... as unspoilt as it can be while allowing human access ... extraordinary.. From Shark Bay we arrived at Kalbarri ... more of a seaside type of location .... have been here for 2 weeks, that could easily be 6 weeks ... A truly lovely spot .. Magnificent, sheer limestone cliffs dropping straight into the most beautiful ocean ... seriously gotta work out I can bring my boat across .. the diving and fishing has gotta be at another level.. From here we explored the gorges ( seems everywhere in WA has gorges ... ancient land..!!) ... Natures Window and Z bend , the pink lake .. algae... and even some time just sitting on the beach ... really a chilled out place to spend some time ... have enjoyed this place immensely... For a laugh, Ive included a couple of Road signs that could only be in Australia... Well, thats about it for me at the moment. Hope you have enjoyed the catch up. We leave Kalbarri tomorrow heading slowly to Esperance. After Esperance well make our way home .. slowly !! Plan to be back on deck on the 26th November. Hope you are all well and enjoying the warming and improving weather ... See you soon Julian See more
10.01.2022 Hey everyone, Crazy times have just got crazier ...!!! I am no longer allowed to practice under covid 19 stage 4 restrictions ... Great .... the only exception to this is if you are under a care plan managed by NDIS, TAC or Workcover ... ... So bottom line is that I have to close my practice until such time as these restrictions are eased allowing me to treat patients. This applies to all cases, even to those in trauma ... Frustrated does not even begin to describe how I feel at the moment. So all I can say is I will see you all as soon as I am able to. Please stay safe, give your loved ones a huge hug and make the best of what is a crap situation ... See you soon Julian See more

All I can say is that this time around it is certainly not the fault of all us, but squarely on the ineptitude of Dan and his cronies ... Well, we have 6 weeks of this ahead of us now ...... Maybe we might even get our newest family member properly house and toilet trained ... thatd be a bonus wouldnt it ..? Will these increased restrictions affect my ability to practice... Short answer is ... NO ..!! Im a single patient clinic, providing one on one therapy with no waiting room or patients waiting .. so all good to continue practicing.. Hope that allays any concerns that some if you may have had .., Meanwhile, Ill just head off and have a play with Dexy..

06.01.2022 Hey Everyone, Well, we have just received a notification from our association that Massage and myotherapy will NOT be included in the second stage easing of restrictions scheduled in for the 28th September. It is anticipated that we will be included in the 3rd stage easing, anticipated to be 23rd October .... Unbeleivable ....!!! I am at a complete loss as to what to say. This State and its economy is being ground into the dirt. ... It is incomprehensible to me that it is both happening and that we, as the electorate, are standing by watching and allowing it to happen... !!! I have no idea what we can do other that to lobby to have this government dissolved and for the Federal Govt to take over with emergency powers while we elect a new leadership for our btoken State.. I am beside myself with frustration, despair and disappointment... From being a strong and robust economy and State, we are now on our knees thankful, yes thankful, for any easing of these insanely draconian restrictions that this measley, power hungry imbicile has levied upon us all. God help us.... Something has to change .... If anything changes in the meantime I will let you all know as soon as I know. I am here for you all, so please, if you have any concerns or issues ... CALL ME ..... please. Stay safe, be well and have as much fun as you can throughout these insane times. All my best Julian See more

04.01.2022 ISOLATION ...!! How are you all coping ....? Keeping busy finding and doing jobs around the house that youve put off for the last 5 years or more ..??... Well, that pretty much sums up my time so far ... So just a few of the things Ive been doing the last 2 weeks ... Washing and detailing cars, plus getting a couple of them sorted so we can dispose of them ... ( at least a couple of days there ..) Maintenance to, and painting of, boat rack on Camper Trailer Setting camper trailer up for extended stay ... Clearing blocked sewer pipe... including of course, getting myself covered in the wonderful disharge .... just such a great task to do .... Getting into the garden.... mowing, whipper snipper, weeding of garden banks, trimming of offending plants, transplanting of plants into renovated garden beds ... phew, Im buggered just recalling all this work ... full 2 days there... Then the weather turned nasty, so there was nothing for it but to binge out on some Netflix series .... 3rd season of Ozark... fantastic / Marcella season 1 & 2 .. terrific... and last but not least ... Godless ... watched the full season in one sitting !!! Laaazzyyy And so, if that was not enough, have done heaps of reading.. approx 7 books so far ... can highly recommend... Where the crawdads sing ( in the Pat Conroy style) Bruny ... by Heather Rose and Scrublands by Chris Hammer. Then there was a full morning honing and sharpening our our kitchen knives ... at long last. Only cut myself once in the process, so pretty happy with that.. And, last but not least, have fulfilled a long held ambition and have bought myself a Ukele ... yep, trying to become a bit more musical... .... feel very sorry for Nina and Harry having to endure my ham fisted efforts at chord changes on what is a very small fret board ... trying to practice at least 30 mins each day ... ! ... fingertips have become quite sore and tender to touch ... but really enjoying it SO far... Well if that hasnt convinced you of my lack of mental health thru this time, I have been sleeping out in our camper most nights when the weather permitted... sort of a sense of camping, when actually not. I do love the fresh air of sleeping outdoors. So I hope this has given you all a bit of a laugh and maybe a small amount of inspiration. Be well, be safe, be healthy, do your stretching and fitness activities and wring every ounce of fun from each day that you can.. This will all be over soon ( hopefully) I now have to face up to a game of poker with Nina and Harry, where I am a certainty to be fleeced by Harry ..!! See you all soon Julian When you cant go camping, camp at home ....
03.01.2022 Have a look out our wonderful treatment area. #bodiesinbalance
03.01.2022 Hi everyone, Hope you are all having a fantastic Easter and taking advantage of the sensational weather... After having a great day out on the water yesterday with my good mate Duncan and having a dive with my son Harry, I thought Id just like to share some photos from a while back, celebrating just how magnificent some of the small things in our sea can be, and are, awe inspiring ... Just gotta love the ocean ... Happy Easter to to you all ... Julian See more
02.01.2022 At long last, I am now allowed to practice again ... !!! Yeeeeehaaaah ..... If any of you are wanting an appt, please just txt me on 0419. 484151 Give me your rough preference for time and day and we’ll get an appt sorted for you ... Thankyou all for your understanding and patience .. What a ridiculous nightmare this has been. We’re back, and that’s all that matters ....
01.01.2022 Morning all, On this the 1st day of our 5th Lockdown Unbelievable.!! Once again I am prevented from practicing until this is over at this stage, starting back first thing next Wednesday 21st July Apologies to those of you I have inconvenienced from having to cancel and reschedule appointments... It is frustrating for all of us It is what it is. I’ll just have to get on the bike and ride my 5km each day, get some air into my lungs and just maybe finish off with some cold water immersion brrrrrr .. Make the most of this enforced break All my best to you all See more
01.01.2022 Morning from beautiful Exmouth, where I gotta say it is a beautiful morning ... I know, probably not the best thing to be saying given the weather you all have been subjected to over the last week ...!! But, it is another beautiful day... Just an update on our trip so far ... Tomorrow marks 2 weeks since our departure. Well, what a fabulous 2 weeks its been... ... learning how to use and live in the camper trailer, getting the Pajero sorted and used to its road behaviour and just comprehending just how big and magnificent this country is .. Just to get here took 5200+kms .. !!! That translated into a lot of days driving, a lot of overnight stays which necessitated a lot of camper set ups and break downs ... you could say were getting pretty good at it now.. I gotta say, it is worth every minute of the journey to be here.. We had our first snorkel yesterday in a shallow lagoon called oyster stacks, just inside Ningaloo reef, and if the coral diversity and fish life was anything to go by, we are in for a magnificent couple of months... The three of us are really getting pretty excited about the prospect of what is in store for us. We have a couple more days here in Exmouth then we are off to beach camping on Ningaloo Station for about 24 days .. Pretty much will be off grid, as there are no facilities at all ( including no water) and absolutely no phone or mobile service ... So it will be back to nature and the basics of life.. Cant wait .. So if you dont hear from me for some time, it will be because of our location.. ok ? Anyway, just a few comments/ observations of our trip so far.. What a country we have ...!! It is so vast, it beggars comprehension... the geographical variations and the different moods and complexions they take on can be quite breathtaking and dazzling ... Every day starts with anticipation of what lays ahead of us ... It just makes what is an extraordinarily long journey, exciting and vibrant .. The three of us have absolutely loved the journey in getting here ... To be quite honest, I could not have, and did not, anticipate it being such a great trip across. Im going to try and add some photos of the trip across so you can get an idea of what Im talking about.. 01.01.2022 Morning everyone, Well, this may well be my last post before before I reach home and our wonderful adventure comes to an end .... Yep, we have done the big turn left and are heading East, have crossed the Nullabor and are now in Streaky Bay. We had to replace our windscreen, so spent 5 days down in Esperance and were met with a very cold SW wind and rain for 2 days ... rain and cold ... we hadnt had that for 3 months .. what were we thinking !! The weather cleared and we ...did some exploring of what has to be the most breathtakingly beautiful coastline I think I have ever encountered .. the photos absolutely do it no justice ... the pure white sand into beautifully clean and clear water combine to produce the most magnificent colours of ocean water you could ever hope to see ... around every corner in the road you would come upon an ocean vista that would take your breath away . The most staggering natural beauty I think I have ever seen .... Finally windscreen was done and we were on our way East ... We had a cold and drizzly trip across the Nullabor .. uneventful as you can imagine .. and arrived here at Streaky Bay 2 days ago ... A lovely seaside village, that seems to be robust and proud of itself and of course with the freshest of oysters ... absolutely delicious.. !! The weather here is in a similar vein to home in that today is forecast to be 35 and tomorrow 21 ... yoyo weather patterns .... softening us up for what we will come home to ...?? Well the kettle is boiling and Im about to have a cuppa, so Ill sign off now and see you all when I start back on the 26th .. hope everyone is well and looking forward to summer .. All my best The ex WA Wanderer .. See more
