22.01.2022 To our much valued patients! This is the information that we have received from our governing body (The Australian Physiotherapy Association) 2 days ago, which still stands as of the announcement last night. There has been some misinformation circulating so we want to be clear that our clinic remains OPEN at present as per advice from the Minister for Health. We will ensure to keep you updated on social media if any circumstances change! As a business, we are continuing to b...e vigilant on sanitary measures in the clinic whilst we are open. In addition, we have Telehealth appointments available for Workers Compensation patients and Private patients, with the expectation that medicare (EPC) patients will be covered as of next week. Whilst the Telehealth is a new concept for us, the appointments we have had with patients thus far have been really positive! We look forward to speaking to you all soon and please dont hesitate to contact us at the clinic on 0477 140 196 for any further information! Much Love , The entire team @ B&M Physio . . . #telehealth #physiotherapy #byford #bmphysio

17.01.2022 The 'go to' treatment for a tear of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) of the knee has always been reconstructive surgery, however there is growing support for non-surgical management! Check out this local case study of a 16 year old female who was taken through a graded loading and strengthening program with her physiotherapist. She managed to return to netball 9 weeks after the injury and follow up MRI results showed excellent healing of the Ligament!

13.01.2022 Thanks to the local community amazing generosity, we were able to raise $567 for Starick Services from our BBQ fundraiser last Saturday! These proceeds will be passed on directly to families in need in the form of vouchers for shopping, fuel, bills etc. In addition, we were able to pass on an overflowing basket of clothing and household items! Although these items might seem basic, they are vital for individuals who have had to flee quickly from an abusive environment without any belongings. Thank you for the efforts of everyone involved and we look forward to working with Starick Services again in the future! #starickservices #byford #physio #bmphysio

09.01.2022 *Telehealth options available - See below* With all the talk at the moment of Coronavirus, we thought wed take a moment to let everyone know the measures that Body and Motion Physiotherapy are taking to ensure the health and safety of our patients, staff and community. We understand this is a stressful time for many people, with the unknown dominating the conversation at present. What we do know is that the Dept of Health, Australian Physiotherapy Association and AHPRA (our... governing body) have all released guidelines that aim to minimise the spread and impact of the virus. We as a business will strive to align with the guidelines to ensure our staff and patients are provided a safe environment to be treated. We do however understand that some people will have a personal preference to not attend the clinic for their appointment. For this, we are able to offer video call tele-health appointments via a secure, encrypted platform, which will allow us to; Obtain a thorough history of the condition Check in on your progress Watch and progress your exercises Develop and demonstrate new exercises Manage and tailor your programs Advise appropriate management plans Provide detailed list and prescription of exercises with automated daily reminders. Provide the benefits of a typical exercise based consult from your home. We do ask that if you have been feeling unwell and either travelled recently or had direct contact with a confirmed case, please contact your regular GP to discuss further management. If you have a pending appointment with us, please give us a call on 0477 140 196 once youve spoken to your GP to discuss appointment options. Please see the link below for Dept. Health FAQ regarding COVID-19 for more information. We are trialling new things to cater to those who may be affected, and to prepare if situations progress to further isolations. This is new for us the situation is unique and there is still a large amount of unknown. What we do know though is patient safety remains our priority. We are still working to get your back to your best, sooner. Much love , Body and Motion Physiotherapy Byford. 07.01.2022 This week is World Continence Week! We recognise that incontinence is an important issue that is often overlooked, and as such we are offering 10% off all incontinence/pelvic floor based consults this week in the clinic! Affecting both men and women, incontinence can have a major impact on quality of life. It is an issue that is commonly linked to pregnancy (pre and post natal), menopause, obesity, UTIs and after specific types of surgery (prostatectomy and hysterectomy).... It is largely treatable with simple changes to dietary and lifestyle habits. In addition, it is vital that our pelvic floor muscles are working in a co-ordinated fashion to control the release of urine, faeces or flatus (wind). The pelvic floor can be trained like any other group of muscles in the body, however its important that you are properly assessed and prescribed exercises from a professional! We are lucky to have one of our physiotherapists Tracey who concentrates specifically in this area If you have any issues, dont hesitate to contact the clinic, Tracey would love to help!! . . . #laughwithoutleaking #incontinence #physio #byford #bmphysio See more

02.01.2022 Heel Pain! You might have heard it called plantar fasciopathy or fasciitis...different name, same pain! This little trick is great for rolling out the sensitivity in the foot, making it less painful to walk on, particularly first thing in the morning. All you need is a round firm ball as above or a golf ball and you're all set. 30-60secs first thing in the morning - and repeat throughout the day as you need.
