24.01.2022 Remedial Massage Therapist - Chanelle After many years working in administration which saw her sitting at a desk and working long hours in an office all day. Chanelle began suffering from severe lower back pain and poor posture and knew she needed to make a change. Chanelle changed her career and commenced studying a Certificate IV in Massage Therapy and Diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy in early 2019.... Chanelle’s Journey..... Participating in voluntary massage at events led Chanelle to to massaging at the MACA 200 Cancer for Research, the Busselton Ironman 2019, and the Under 19 State Cricket Team of Victoria. Working with a different variety of people and athletes in her massage career has fuelled Chanelle’s passion for massage even more. Chanelle found that she really enjoyed helping those who suffer with pain and injuries, and in particular, lower back pain. 19.01.2022 CHANELLES SELF CARE STORY Chanelle hasnt always worked in the health and fitness industry, but it is this experience out of the industry that led her to where she is today! Chanelle spent almost 20 years working in an office environment, sitting at a desk all day for 5 days a week and up to 10 hours a day. Despite being generally fit and healthy doing all the right things for her health she had no idea how much her work environment was affecting her p...osture and weakening her muscles. This lack of knowledge of how her body worked and the care it needed to function effectively would see her going from sitting at work to a two-hour gym session not giving her body the best chance to function effectively. Over an extensive period, this led to bad posture, poor mobility and weakened muscles causing Chanelle extreme lower back problems and chronic pain. After a life changing event and multiple issues with her back, Chanelle realised she wanted to help herself and others improve themselves and learn how to listen to and care for their bodies. She put her hobby of health and nutrition into action and began her journey in the massage industry, really taking an interest in the body and what it needs to function at its best and without pain or discomfort. Having the opportunity to work with athletes and people who suffer from a wide range of injuries really opened her eyes to the importance of strength and mobility for a balanced and healthy body. Sarah’s Journey........ Sarah has always enjoyed receiving massage therapy treatments, but it was after receiving a massage treatment on her neck that she experienced how a Remedial Massage Treatment could have such a positive effect on the body and mind.
