13.01.2022 Hi everyone, We have had a few Pilates places open up for tomorrow morning, Saturday 4th July, give Kat a call if you wish to grab one.

13.01.2022 Hi everyone, Just letting you know Body Balance is open for business and our classes are running as normal. We have hand sanitizer and our equipment gets cleaned after each class. But of course if you are not feeling well then stay at home and seek advice from your GP by phone or from the new clinics open at Gosford and Wyong Hospital.

13.01.2022 The Coronavirus pandemic is a rapidly evolving situation and we are working to ensure we comply with all the requirements set out by the Federal Government. Currently there is a 4m2 per person limit on people inside a building. Body balance physiotherapy practice is roughly 80-100m2, which means we have a limit of 20 people in the building at any one time. Rest assured we easily comply with this new regulation even with physio and Pilates running at the same time. To ensure w...e minimise the chance of spreading the virus we will be asking ALL patients to assist us when you visit our practice. You will be asked to help us in a few ways: * On arrival every person will be asked to use hand sanitizer available and you may be asked to hand sanitize again during your visit. If you do not wish to use hand sanitizer we can ask you to wash your hands instead. If you do not wish to do this then our wish is to not treat you. *Please come alone to your appointment if able. We recognize that some people will need assistance of a carer or adult and those people will be exempt *At all times please try to maintain 1-1.5m distance between yourself and others. Obviously this requirement will not be in effect when being treated by the physiotherapist. *If you feel unwell then please give us a call prior to you appointment and we will cancel you. We are taking all reasonable measures to clean surfaces between patients and maintaining our own standards of hand washing. The Australian Physiotherapy Association is currently lobbying the Federal and State Governments for a telehealth item number, similar to doctors, to allow us to assist those who may not be able to make it to their appointment. Thank you for your patience during this challenging time, Regards Adam and The Body Balance team.

11.01.2022 It's migraine awareness week! Headaches can be caused by many factors. Headache Australia describes 35 different causes to headaches. Find out more about headac...hes: https://choose.physio/your-body/head/headache If you have excruciating pain in the head, or if it is your first or worst headache, you should consult your GP or attend the nearest ED to rule out any serious condition. You should also consult your GP if the headaches are ongoing or associated with dizziness, disorientation, difficulty speaking, swallowing, falls, nausea, numbness or nystagmus (where the eyes move rapidly and uncontrollably).

11.01.2022 Just wish to assure all our Pilates clientele that your passes are all in hibernation and will be ready to go once we get the all clear, with all your remaining visits intact.

10.01.2022 - Meet Lamar Grant, a world record holder powerlifter. He was the first person to deadlift 5(!) x bodyweight; 300kg at 60kg bw....! Notice anything special abo...ut his body proportions? The reason his arms seem so long is because he has severe ideopathic scoliosis, which means looking from behind his spine looks more like an "s"-shape than a "normal" straight line, making his torso a lot shorter. We often see clients who have minor scoliosis who are full or fear that their spines have less structural tolerance and that they are predisposed to musculoskeletal pain due to their abnormality. Most of the time this fear is driven by doctors and healthcare professionals who totally over-exaggerate the consequences of this abnormality. Filling our clients with fear and taking away the confidence of physical activities, or loaded movement is the worst thing we can do as healthcare professionals. Our bodies are not created equal and our ability to adapt to physiological and anatomical changes needs to keep us humble and open minded. Moral of the story: Just because you are not perfectly "aligned" as per the text book, does not make you fragile and nobody should lead you to believe that! Wise words from Ian Houghton Thanks for bringing this post to our attention Sigurd Mikkelsen.

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, Just to keep everyone up to speed, Body Balance is still open for business. We have hand sanitizer and we are taking all precautions to clean our Pilates equipment between clients. But of course if you are feeling unwell, especially if you have a fever, then stay home and give your doctor a call. Stay safe and remember to help each other out.

05.01.2022 Hi to all our Pilates clients, Great news from the NSW Premier’s announcement that Gym’s will be allowed to re-open, and as such we will be able to start up our Pilates sessions. I know it has been hard for a lot of you during this difficult time, and I thank you for your patience in waiting for the Pilates to re-open. Many of you are eager to find out more so here is our back to Pilates plan.... Pilates will begin on Monday 22nd June. A few things have changed since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the largest being that we have had our Pilates staff leave us. Most of you knew that Travers was already leaving us, with his last days just as the lockdown hit, but unfortunately due to circumstance Greg has also had to move on. We wish them both the best of luck into the future. The good news is Patrick, our esteemed Exercise Physiologist, has stepped up to the Pilates plate and will be running some of the classes. Although he is amazing at his job, he is only one man, and cannot do all the classes himself that we had previously run in the mornings and evenings. So Body Balance is currently advertising and seeking to employ a new Pilates Instructor to address this situation. When we recommences, there will be less classes than before, which unfortunately is the best we can do at this time. But we know how eager you all are to get back to exercising so it is better to at least get started in some capacity than nothing at all. This will effect everyone in different ways. Days and times that you may have attended previously, may not be available as we start up again. We will do our best to find you another time/day so you can still get your Pilates workout for the week. I thank you for your patience again. That brings us to bookings of Pilates times. To make it fair for all our clients we will no longer be able to permanently book a spot for you indefinitely into the future. We will only book Pilates time slots one week in advance, and all times will be open for all clients to book. It will be a first in first served system. I know this will not suit everyone, but Body Balance has taken this decision to make this strange New World we currently find ourselves in as fair as possible. To ensure everyone has the same amount of time, and to ensure social distancing rules are followed the classes will be strictly limited to one hour. If you arrive early, you will not be able to start your class until the previous class has left the building. This may mean a short wait outside. Conversely, if you arrive late you will not be able to stay longer than your allotted time, this ensures the next class that are waiting can start on time. Thank you to all for your patience Adam

04.01.2022 We have 3 spots free for Pilates tomorrow afternoon (Thursday 23rd July) at 5pm. Gives a call to grab a spot. 4399 2281
