25.01.2022 We need to pull together & try to keep this as contained as we can. Stay optimistically cautious & follow our medical officers advice please.

25.01.2022 Another great read about non-surgical management of ACL tears . Challenging our long held routine belief that surgery provides the best or quickest pathway to better results . It can be uncomfortable to read research based evidence, that does a 180 to what is drummed in to us. Again, the language we use (heartbreaking, devastating injury) and the media swing can make changing strong held beliefs a mountain to climb....... good thing we love mountains and the satisfaction of getting up them is awesome!

25.01.2022 Hannah Clarke Memorial Workout - Saturday 7th @ 7:00am This coming Saturday replacing our normal Saturday workout we will be completing the Fittest Mum version ...of Hannah Clarke's memorial workout. As I'm sure you are all aware, Hannah and her three children lost their lives on the 19th of February in an act that rocked the world, especially the close nit CrossFit and Weightlifting Community in Australia. My Wife Andrea & I knew the family and its a cause close to our own hearts, I hope that as many of you great humans come and celebrate these wonderful peoples' lives in true Crossfit spirit, with a cracking workout. We would like to open our doors to anyone who would like to come and show their respects through this workout to the greater community. So if you have a sister, brother, daughter, son, parents, anyone who was affected and would like to be part of this, please invite them down. This will be a free event and absolutely no charge. No CrossFit experience is necessary, we will have options ready to go for anyone who hasn't done the movements before so they can be part of this day. (If you are not a member send us a message to confirm you are coming so we can be prepared for numbers). Following the completion of the workout, for anyone that is interested, we will be heading as the Bounce Family to First Fruits Specialty Coffee (Labrador - 129-133 Olsen Ave) for Coffee and/or Breakfast. For anyone yet to donate to the fundraiser set up by Hannah's sister in law, please head over to the link below and donate. Don't forget about the ongoing costs to the family, it does look from the outside like they have received plenty but I can guarantee its only just the beginning of moving forth for the family. https://www.facebook.com/donate/129412541729295/ Looking forward to seeing you all there. Coach Regan p.s. please keep all comments positive and no talk about the incident or any parties involved as any negative comments will be removed. Many Thanks

25.01.2022 A great starting resource, now we are all heading back to sport. Managing the first month or two is important for minimising risk of injury

24.01.2022 This did make me chuckle, though seriously folks.......With a lot of 'work from home' set ups happening over the last few weeks, we are starting to hear about a lot of sore necks & shoulders, headaches & pain in the back and the butt . We can offer some simple tips & advice to help out! Let us know by commenting here or PM us & we will get back to you via message or phone/videocall.

23.01.2022 A very good read! I use the rubber ban analogy a lot in clinic, it is human nature to think 'it's tight, I need to stretch it'. It is not always the best long term option read on, I dare you!

22.01.2022 Our Pinc & Steel Cancer Rehab Foundation’s in New Zealand and Australia are supporting DRY JULY this year. Our Pinc&Steel Cancer Rehab Therapists have signed up their clinics to support this campaign to ensure people don't miss out on cancer rehabilitation services in their communities. 20.01.2022 Queensland has been able to slow the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) because you have been following advice on self-quarantine. Thank you. Your efforts... are saving Queensland lives. So, let’s keep it up. We all have a huge part to play in reducing the number of people who get the virus and protecting those who are most at risk. As the impact of the virus in Queensland changes, our advice will change, so it is important to get up-to-date advice from credible sources. For our updates, please visit www.health.qld.gov.au/coronavirus As we prepare for the possibility of more cases across the state, let’s do what Queenslanders do best stick together and help each other out.

20.01.2022 It does look positive for greater social interaction while ongoing physical distancing will be with us for the longer term. In the clinic, we will continue to space out face to face appointments to enable all increased infection control procedures to be completed and minimise the number of people in the clinic at a time. Sarah is in clinic 2 - 3 days a week. Stacey will be in clinic from May 18th. Telehealth will continue for those at increased risk and appropriate. ... We may be able to reintroduce our exercise classes by the end of June too. Thank you to our awesome community for your great support during this challenging time! Word on the street: where is Terrarium moving too? If you thought they were close before, they may be getting even closer! Still appropriate 1.5m distance - woohoo! I may have to knock a hole in our wall. See more

10.01.2022 Due to the weather & road conditions we have closed the clinic this afternoon. Stay safe everyone! If it's flooded forget it. I sent Ben earlier to do a road inspection. This is Coomera River weir about 11.30am this morning.

09.01.2022 An interesting read about pain & degeneration, that points towards graded activity to keep moving Age & degeneration should never be absolute limiting factors The words we use to describe pain & pathology need to be carefully considered. These words have a powerful negative effect on our perception, motivation and outlook.

09.01.2022 Season's Greetings! We wish everyone a safe and fun Christmas. Ive been asked to share, thanks Theresa T. This is for Rob!

08.01.2022 Not only Cancer Rehab Awareness Week 2020 but World Physiotherapy Day today too . This day marks the unity and solidarity of the global physiotherapy commun...ity. It is an opportunity to recognise the work that physiotherapists do for their patients and community. Our #CRAW campaign supports this mission. Hear insights from PINC&STEEL physios here https://vimeo.com/271210171 ‘Rehabilitation’ has never been a part of the traditional patient pathway for oncology patients. The primary focus of oncology medical professionals is to eliminate or control disease by suppressing cancer cell growth or directly removing the tumour. These treatments are increasingly successful, but they also damage ‘normal’ tissue. While oncology specialists seek the best possible outcomes, i.e. the absence of any residual cancer this does not mean that meaningful emotional and functional recovery is complete. Many of our healthcare systems do not have the means to effectively assess post treatment functional impairment and there is a real lack of awareness about oncology rehabilitation services. This is why we must share the message about the vital role cancer rehab physiotherapists have in re-enabling those with a cancer diagnosis to live well and live fully and continue to achieve their goals. Our PINC&STEEL Certified physiotherapists are uniquely positioned to offer evidence based oncology rehabilitation and support those with a cancer diagnosis with essential aspects of their recovery and wellness that aren't offered elsewhere. #CRAW2020 #WorldPTDay #globalPT #cancerrehab

08.01.2022 Great ideas for returning to the court!

08.01.2022 Not just for children! We should always ask questions about our health and about treatment. It is your body, your health and your $$. If it is not clear: why we are providing a particular treatment, possible treatment effect, the reason behind our rehab suggestions, the role of physio treatment & education and the importance of what you can do ...... ask QUESTIONS.

08.01.2022 We are celebrating our 3rd birthday!! Thank you to everyone in our Body Base Physio community, we look forward to continuing our work together. From Sarah and the team.
