15.01.2022 2021 GOALS Have you planned yours yet? A lot of the time when people think of health & fitness goals they think of weight loss goals, which there is nothing wrong with, but keep in mind all the other areas you can focus on, such as - Your fitness levels Your strength levels... How well you can perform certain exercises (intensity in training is important but it should never come at the expense of form & technique, form first, then build on the intensity after) How certain clothing fits How consistent you are with your training, diet, water consumption & sleep Your energy, self confidence and relationships Your knowledge around training & nutrition (especially your relationship with food) When focusing on all of the above, a lot of the time the ‘weight loss’ or more importantly ‘fat loss’ and body recomposition will come along with it. When setting your 2021 goals, try to not just focus on the end weight loss goal, but all the daily habit goals that will get you there #bdfbendigo #consistencyiskey #365newdays See more

15.01.2022 The facts on protein Proteins are essential for muscle repair. They help with growth (especially important for kids, teenagers and pregnant women), muscle tissue repair (Essential for post workout), immune function and preserving lean muscle mass. Unlike carbs, proteins cannot be stored, hence why it is so IMPORTANT to hit our protein target on a daily basis. There are 4 calories per one gram of protein. An important part of our BDF 10 week challenge meal plan is having ...an adequate amount of protein throughout the day with each meal. Are you consuming enough protein? Protein consumption should be around 1.6-2.5g per kg of body weight. So to sum things up, protein in our diet is essential for general health, muscle preservation & muscle growth Photo credit - @tay_jb93
