25.01.2022 A little bit of Flashback Friday action to mark the halfway point in our stage 4 closure. This Cape2 sofa in Warwick Fabrics Australia Lindeman Snow with accents from their Montauk collection was an absolute stunner. 3 more weeks to go, champs. Hang in there!

21.01.2022 It's been a completely crazy year, but we got through it, and we're ready for a sleep-in! Thank you, everyone, for all of your support this year, and for your patience and understanding, particularly in the last few months. Here's to 2021 being a better, brighter year! -The Body Family

20.01.2022 WE'RE BACK! It's been a loooonnnnng 8 weeks, but today we were permitted to open for manufacturing! We're still another step or 2 away from being allowed to have visitors in the showroom, but we're happy to be back into it and now we've got a hard slog to get everything done before the end of the year.

20.01.2022 Happy father's day to all the dads out there! Our resident dads, Kelvin and Dave are hoping for the gift of good news from the state government today. Hopefully we'll be back in the factory a week from Monday. (Breakfast by Kate, who is also a mumdad)

17.01.2022 We're going live very soon for the cushion draw!!!!!

16.01.2022 One of the last orders to go out before the lockdown was this beautiful Charlie 2.5 seater in NSW Leather Co Laguna Oak. We know you all have so many questions, I'll attempt to answer the ones we think will be most common here, but feel free to ask in the comments if we haven't covered it. PLEASE KEEP READING... Have you closed? Yes, we were forced to cease production from 11:59pm Wednesday 5/8/20 according to stage 4 COVID-19 restrictions When will you reopen? We aren't 100% sure, but at this stage the reopen date is Monday 14/9/20. We're hoping that with the reviews to come it will be sooner than that. Can you work from home? Yes and no. I (kate) can do all of our admin, accounts and social media stuff from home, Dave is doing some prep work on frames, etc at his home, and that's about all we can do. Due to size, power requirement (some of our equipment requires a special outlet), noise limitations and just having the space to store everything at home, there isn't a lot that's actually possible to do from home. Will my order be affected? - This is the big question, and the answer is yes. If you don't already have your furniture in your home, there will be at least a delay of the stage 4 lockdown period on your order. If you were due to receive your order this week, for example, we'll be sending it out as soon as we are allowed to return to our workplace. If you were expecting it next month, I think it's safe to say it'll be an extra month away (hopefully, if the lockdown period isn't extended) Is anyone from BodyDesign sick? No, we haven't had any COVID-19 cases or close contacts, we were simply not allowed to continue under the restrictions, as is the case for all furniture manufacturing in Melbourne metro and Mitchell Shire. Isn't there some way for you to continue trading? After exhausting all avenues, unfortunately the answer is no. We've had phone conversations with the DHHS covid hotline, scoured the internet, and continue to monitor the situation daily, but for now our only option is to do what we can from home and return to production when this mess is over. We're in a fortunate position, we have a very solid foundation, and won't need to reduce our staff numbers or anything like that. As soon as it's allowed, we'll be back on board with 100% capacity, all as well rested as we're ever going to get! Stay safe, stay home, help us get through this by doing the right thing to end the restrictions faster. We'd like to thank you all for your patience and understanding during this extremely stressful time.

15.01.2022 It's that time of year again, and we're dying to know which model was most popular again! This year it's another close one with the same contenders as last year!!! Will it be Charlie or Nora? Hit the like button on your favourite photo to cast your vote, and we'll tell you at the end of the week which one we made more of! Fun fact: At BodyDesign, we make approximately 2000 pieces of gorgeous furniture every year!

14.01.2022 We love a happy customer, and rooms don't get much more stunning than this. A custom modular that just fits so perfectly with the rest of the room, with a fabric delay, then a lockdown delay, we're so happy our customers thinks it was worth all the waiting! It's the perfect day to enjoy a good comfy spot today, too! Fabric is Warwick Fabrics Australia Optima Ebony

09.01.2022 Just a little note from Kate, I've been talking to lots of you about when we can have visitors to the factory again, and we'd hoped it would be today. Unfortunately, it looks like we need to wait a couple more weeks. The new date is November 2nd (pending an announcement Halloween weekend.)

08.01.2022 A little Wayback Wednesday today, to the old factory and lesser photography skills (lol) and this amazing double chaise suite for the Dal Santo family. The storage ottoman slides in to the gap perfectly to make a full lounging experience on family movie nights with no arguments about who gets to put their feet up! Bonus bookshelf feature on one side for easy access to remotes.

08.01.2022 Located Frankston, Vic. Please only serious applicants with actual experience/ skills.

08.01.2022 Well.... it's not good news. Today's roadmap has us reopening from the 28th September, conditional upon the case numbers being within the prescribed amount. The tunnel just got so much longer, but we can still see the light. (Photo by @katylylakphotog)

06.01.2022 We've been a bit quiet on social media because we're so busy in the lead up to Christmas, but had to share this beauty. Chloe 3 seater in Warwick Fabrics Australia Cheshire dove, accented with their gorgeous Montauk collection. Stunner!

06.01.2022 Plans are afoot at bodydesignHQ.....

04.01.2022 Not long now until we can reopen. We're hopeful that our September 28 date for manufacturing and October 26 for showroom visitors will be accurate and we can get back into it full steam ahead. In the meantime, let's look at versatility. Have it your way! This is our Hampton sofa in both a loose cushion back and fitted back version, with feather wrap seat and full synthetic (no animal products). Which is your favourite?

03.01.2022 Freedom! We're now allowed to have trade and design visitors to the showroom again. To keep us all safe, make sure you book an appointment time with Kate before you visit the showroom, and don't forget to check in and wear your mask

03.01.2022 We've left Nic Cagecushion in charge at the factory. I'll answer all of the questions i know you have in my next post, but for now just wanted to pop on and let you all know that yes, we have been forced to cease production for the period of stage 4 restrictions. The task of shutting down a booming manufacturing environment was near-impossible, and the family have put in 3 massive work days this week. Today will be a day off while admin is set up for WFH and I'll be back in "the office" tomorrow. Kate

03.01.2022 A little bit of cleaning and tidying in the showroom today (now that we have a little more space) in time for the draw at 4.30 today. Get your comments on the giveaway post to be in the running, we'll have Dave draw a name out for the winner.

02.01.2022 Hey everyone! We're now allowed to have visitors again, but because we need to be compliant with the CovidSafe plan, and because we have so much to catch up on, we've had to put some new rules in place.
