22.01.2022 Clarra's favourite exercise....if she had to name just one it would be a deadlift! Why? Because we all need strong glutes, leg strength in general, a stable trunk, coordination, loading for our bone health, and it's great for posture! The list goes on. This exercise is great for everyone. Those with osteoarthritis, lower back pain, osteoporosis, recovering from an injury, living in chronic pain, anyone really can benefit from this functional movement. If she had to name her favourite movement though? Dancing for sure.

From mental health, pregnancy, menopause to prolapse, movement is vital for women to be healthy. But did you know only 1 in 2 women aged 18-64 are exercising sufficiently. We want to change that!! 19.01.2022 What a man!! Greg was able to squeeze me in this week and got everything done yesterday ready for the plasterer. Then he snuck in today and popped in some down lights for my hallway. From one to Clarke to another... Thanks!!!
19.01.2022 Meet the team - What exercise does Tristan do? It is easy to get into a rut with exercise. In order to have a lifelong healthy relationship with movement, you have to find a way of enjoying it. I might be considered lucky in that I have always loved exercising. There is no better feeling to me than pushing my body to a limit I didn't think I could reach and I am fascinated how the body will adapt to what we demand of it. However, this may be because I have always been proact...ive with having a purpose for my exercise and following things that I enjoy. I have experimented with every gym training modality there is from body building and putting on 30kg of muscle out of high school to changing directions and losing half of that training for marathon running to powerlifting to be able to deadlift 200kg to gymnastics to learn how to backflip. It is especially important as you age to partake in regular resistance exercise which is why I have a non negotiable commitment to a minimum of 3 days/week of weight training at the gym. As mentioned in my hobbies, I have always loved martial arts and currently do a grappling art called Jiu Jitsu 4x/week (pictured below - recently winning a competition). I also hike most weekends. 16.01.2022 Movement Monday Body Dynamics is a big advocate of something is better than nothing. We are always surprised that people would rather do nothing instead of the recommended 30 minutes a day. Today I am trying to re-establish my weights routine that has been a bit hit and miss since ablation.... Keeping it simple to get back into it with 10kg DB bench press 3 x 8 20kg weight bag squats 3 x 20 15kg half kneeling single arm side pull 3 x 8 varied lunges with 5-10kg 3 x 8 seated lean back single arm rows 15kg 3 x 8 No records being broken, that's OK as I enjoy it, gets me moving and I will start seeing progress with a routine. 14.01.2022 Hi everyone! It's half way through Movember and some of you may have heard that I am growing a beard and running 100km this month in support of Men's health. I am making progress on both fronts and have racked up 50km in the last 2 weeks. Let's hope my legs hold out for 2 more! 13.01.2022 Today I faced my fear. I hate leeches, they are DIS-GUS-TING. But when one of our wonderful clients had one on her leg and she hates them as well, I grabbed her credit card and got that bugger off. What a service we offer at BoDI, exercise physiology and leech removal!

02.01.2022 It was great to be able to celebrate Tristans 30th today with most of the Body Dynamics team. It was a bit far for Clarra and Abbey to travel to join us. It was a lovely day, having a beautiful lunch in the sun with delicious food from #resin and an amazing cake from #mekcookiesandcakes Tristan - Have a great day on Friday and enjoy the weekend celebrating your transition in to 'the real adulthood'. The 20's are just a trial run.
