11.01.2022 Here, at Body Fit Training, we work in 4,5 and 6 week training blocks, known as mesocycle. These blocks have a specific aim and purpose, to ensure your training is always progressing. If you compare week 5 of a training block to week 1, you will notice the total volume is higher, there are slightly shorter rest periods, and the intensity has increased. We have achieved this by progressively increasing your training stimulus across the block, which allows for adaptation to oc...cur. This prevents your training from plateauing, as we continue to change the frequency, intensity, timing, and type of your training, every week. Our training blocks also allow you to improve your skillset and technique on certain movements by being exposed to them weekly. It's about your mind as much as your body! Plus, they decrease your chance of injury, as we can be in control of training intensity and volume, and therefore make sure you're not exposed to an extremely high stimulus week after week. This is why we are Different. Better.

There are lots of new and (can we say fun?!) exercises for you to get stuck into .... ... Sled push (on the S-Drive) Track sprints Ladder runs (to name a few!) We'll be getting you into the yellow zone for as long as possible today, for maximum fat burning and to work on our cardiovascular system . So, if you haven't booked in already, what are you waiting for?!

You may have already guessed that this is a lot harder to perform than it looks (especially on the 4th set!!). Your forearms will burn ! As always, technique and tempo are crucial in today’s workout. 02.01.2022 The EPOC Effect You may have heard us talking about it at the studio and noticed it in the description of today’s Cardio HIIT class.... but what exactly is it?! EPOC refers to the elevation in metabolism after you finish exercising, as your body returns to homeostasis (its resting state). You benefit most from the EPOC effect when you have been training using your anaerobic system and hitting 80% + of your max heart rate.... When you train at this intensity, you’re not only burning a lot of calories during the session, you’ll burn twice as many throughout the day afterwards, by simply carrying out every day tasks (or even at rest). Pretty cool, hey?! So next time the trainers are pushing you into the high yellow and red zones, you’ll know you’re on the way to igniting the EPOC effect !!
