25.01.2022 UPDATE Hey Team, for those of you who are still yet to check your emails. This was recently sent to you this afternoon: Hello,... As you may have heard the South Australian government have directed all indoor physical activity centres (gyms included) to close effective as of midnight tonight (16/11/2020) for two weeks. But the GREAT NEWS is we are still able to train outdoors which we are currently working on! There will be no classes on Tuesday the 17/11 while we prepare for this, but we will be ready on Wednesday with multiple classes available more info to come tomorrow. We appreciate your ongoing support during this time. Hang in there guys, we are doing the best we can to find a resolution to this
20.01.2022 It is that time of the WEEK! Want an exercise that will target the lower-body, strengthening your legs and hips, particularly your quads and glutes? THEN, let's talk all things Front Squat Begin with the barbell across the front side of your shoulders.... Place your fingertips under the barbell just outside of your shoulders and drive your elbows up! Keeping your chest up and core tight, bend at your hips and knees to lower into a squat until your thighs are parallel to the ground. Straighten your hips and knees to drive up to the starting position. That's the gist of it... However, if you need more coaching, we go deeper on technique and common mistakes, why not come in for a visit? Don't drop your elbows & hold the barbell with your arms. If your forearms are vertical and your arms are supporting the barbell, you're doing it wrong. Don't allow your knees to collapse inwards - This is extremely dangerous for your knees! Don't collapse through your chest and round your shoulders - Never release your core, keep that tummy tight!

We've said it before and we will say it again - in the last few weeks always look back to what your goals are. Is everything you are doing in your day supporting that goal?... Have you booked all your classes in advance? Have you prepped your meals for the week ahead? Are you getting the rest and recovery you need to get the absolute best out of yourself during your training sessions? And most importantly... are you enjoying the process?! 18.01.2022 TEAM, it is time to unpackage The Cossack Squat targets the (brace yourselves) quads , hamstrings , glutes , and hip adductors while also working your core and lower back . Your hip, knee, and ankle joints and connective tissues will also be targeted... BOOM Now, lets break it down:... Start with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart and take a big step to the side, like with a side lunge. Shift your bottom back and tilt slightly forwards from the hips. You should feel your glutes activate immediately! Keep your weight through the heels at all times, and imagine spreading the floor outward with your feet. If this feels comfortable, start to take your feet wider and move your weight further back into the heels and bottom. *Your bodyweight should always be on one side with the opposite leg extended. If comfortable, start to lift the toes up on the foot of your extended leg, keeping the heel firmly on the floor. Happy Cossack Squatting
