24.01.2022 TECHNIQUE TUESDAY This week, on Technique Tuesday, trainers Jeremy and Bruno are demonstrating a Barbell Front Squat! This is a lower body compound movement, multiple joints and muscle groups are involved but it is primarily working quads, glutes and hamstrings. ... Front Squats are similar to Back Squats, however the barbell is placed across the front side of your shoulders instead of your upper back. This shifts the center of mass forward, which allows for a more upright posture, making it a very spine-friendly lift. It also shifts some of the work from your glutes to your quads, making this one of the most effective quad strength and size builders! Cues: Hands shoulder width apart. Place fingertips under the barbell and drive elbows up. If you have limited shoulder or wrist mobility like Jez, use a cross grip like he is demonstrating! (cross arms in front of you and place hands at the top of the barbell at your opposite shoulders). Feet hip to shoulder width apart. Toes slightly out. Find what works for you. Keep chest up high and core tight. Imagine you are crushing a coke can between your ribs and pelvis, shoulders back and down, take a deep breath in. Start with a hinge at the hips, then a bend at the knees, driving them out, lowering into a squat position. Thighs come parallel to ground. Keep chest and shoulders up throughout the rep! Push up with your feet, pushing the ground away, as you exhale. Squeeze glutes at the top. This movement features in our Strength program which is running all day today, and will be progressing from week to week! Make sure to book in

Our studio is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all our members. It is important for us to reiterateIt it is still a safe to attend gyms, as advised by the Australian government. . With our members and coaches health at the forefront of our minds, we will be taking additional steps on top of their increased hygiene practices to provide a safe place for our community to stay strong and healthy. . Heres whats changing - The format of our classes will be adjusted to limit partner contact and sharing of equipment Limiting class Numbers Beast mode will be taken out of the timetable until further notice Changes will be made to program timing to allow more time for disinfecting during the session and between each exercise station There will be no official cool down after class to allow for more time to disinfect and reset the room between classes. Please ensure you cool down and stretch in your own time outside the studio. . 2. We know that many of you are working from home and that maintaining your health and fitness during this period is important to you. 14.01.2022 TECHNIQUE TUESDAY Glute Bridge An awesome exercise to activate and get the glutes firing but do you tend to feel this movement in your lower back more so than your glutes? ... If you do, Jez is here to talk you through the reason why and how to correct this! A lot of people will make the mistake of simply lying on their back and lifting their hips, this will generally lead to overextension and arching of the lower back, as Jez demonstrates! How to correct In the bottom position, focus on creating a NEUTRAL SPINE by bracing your abs and tucking your tailbone. Push through your feet, drive the hips up and squeeze the glutes. At the top, think about creating a nice tight space between your ribs and your pelvis, holding the tension in your core and quads for support. This position will result in a strong contraction in the glutes

14.01.2022 The health and well - being of our members is extremely important to us. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for every single one of our BFT members during this time. We have always had a regular daily clean and disinfectant to all equipment, however we have now arranged to allow even more times to be scheduled for cleaning as well as encouraging all members to clean equipment in between switching stations/zones. Towels are compulsory and sanitising before and after your workout is a must!! . If you are not feeling well, please stay at home. We hope to see everyone else in studio keeping up with your regular routines and staying fit and healthy as it is important now more than ever to do so! .

02.01.2022 TECHNIQUE TUESDAY Hey team! We’re back again with Technique Tuesday This week, Laura and Jez will go through a KB Bent Over Row. This is an upper body pull movement, primarily working the back muscles. Using a kettlebell rather than dumbbells will help with core stabilisation ... Feet about shoulder width apart. Keep them flat on the floor. For the starting position, hinge down. So soft knees, chest to the floor and bum to the wall. Quads locked, engage your glutes, core tight, shoulders back and down, chest proud. For the row, think about driving or pulling elbows behind the hips. At the top, hands will tuck into your pockets. Squeeze your lats. Lower back down slowly with control, keep everything tight. Make sure to lead with a hinge, feel your hamstrings and let that stretch your lats. Remember your breathing This movement features in our Hyper Upper Body program which will be on this Thursday!
