17.01.2022 Welcome to Wednesday. Lets talk about cake All too often in clinic Aimee and I hear people talk about how in the attempt to achieve their goals they just need to live a life of ALL or NOTHING. This deprivation of things they love to be honest, ends up backfiring at some stage. Then comes the guilt and de-railing... And eventually then the cycle starts again. The truth is, its ok to have cake sometimes. Savour, appreciate and enjoy it!!... Also: what if you found a way to make a really healthy version of a yummy cake? Then its an even better WIN. You could probably have it even more often. So here we are as Dieticians saying - Yes, enjoy some cake today guilt free. This is one of my favourites, red velvet @teresacutter_healthychef And this amazing lady who lives on the Northern Beaches near me makes it healthy styles. Check her out. See more

Sweet potato sliced on the bottom, grainy mustard mixed with partially cooked chicken and a little garlic oil, steamed pumpkin and drained sweetcorn. Cover with 6 to 8 eggs beaten & shake some pepper then top with cheese. And I bake this for about 30 minutes and its easy as! I can guarantee it tastes delicious

17.01.2022 Bit wild and woolly out there this morning sydney!! sharing one of our beautiful athletes porridge creations. Vanilla oats with all the toppings oats are actually surprisingly high also in protein with 13g per cup (more than a cup of milk, definitely more energy too though so for our non athletes we recommend only 1/2 a cup as a serve) hope this inspires you for a healthy breaky! @my_porridge_

17.01.2022 Lunch...! (Pool cafe maroubra) Any chance to sneak in some omega-3 at this meal is a win. $8 extra to add a WHOLE fillet of salmon to an existing rocket, pumpkin and baked ricotta salad... yes please!!

17.01.2022 Why carbohydrates are important for competition nutrition thanks @ajeukendrup

16.01.2022 Coffee: The caffeine in coffee has been found in animal and cell studies to protect cells in the brain that produce dopamine (this is a feel good hormone ). In a large prospective cohort of more than 500,000 people followed for 10 years, an association was found between drinking higher amounts of coffee and lower rates of death from all causes. Remember however that everyone has a different tolerance level! We usually only recommend 400-500mg (~4-5 shots of coffee max daily) and less for pregnant women (one single shot of coffee daily , leaves some room for a tea or two also)

16.01.2022 EASY THROW TOGETHER RECIPE : Red lentil pasta, chicken breast, zucchini, carrot, red caps, freshly squeezed lemon, pesto and Parmesan.. because sometimes your being awesome at being a dietitian in clinic/at your other sports nutrition job and you dont have time to constantly be all over social media!! This was delicious high five to all my other sports dietitian friends today esp @thehollysticdietitian with an afternoon coffee present to pep me up

16.01.2022 Spring means... more salads! Remember your essentials to make it balanced: Plenty of rainbow coloured veggies this results in a variety of micronutrients being consumed for optimal health... Protein like chicken, beef strips, marinated tofu/tempeh, tinned or steamed fish (I also love smoked salmon), pork tenderloin or hard boiled eggs or some cheese (feta, goats cheese) Sustaining Carb ie Pearl cous cous, long grain brown rice, sweet potato, lentils or legumes, tinned corn or fresh fruit like pear Some healthy fats like avo, nuts, seeds, olive oil or tahini Dressing of choice: Balsamic, fresh lemon , EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) Yummy and healthy = winner!! See more

12.01.2022 LUNCH DATE @em.watto ... quinoa and kale bowl with roasted carrot, pickled cauliflower & sweet potato hummus oh and haloumiiii yummy yummy. Helping another young friend with some business tips. Shes going to nail it thanks @wildsagebarangaroo

12.01.2022 GOOD MORNING Some of the people in the world who live the longest come from the BLUE ZONES SARDINIA, ITALY - OKINAWA, JAPAN - LOMA LINDA, CALIFORNIA - NICOYA PENINSULA, COSTA RICA - ICARIA, GREECE ... What does this mean? It means that they live in environments with certain lifestyle characteristics that support longevity. One of these factors was moderate regular physical activity. Studies withing people of the Blue zones have shown that being physically active does not mean going to the gym everyday, what it means is being constantly moving and trying to exercise your body while doing daily tasks. Exercise can also be unstructured! Not only does this reduce risks of chronic diseases but it also releases happy hormones like endorphins which make you feel GOOD. So... keep it simple: Rollerskating/rollerblading Basketball in the park with friends Soccer on the beach Swimming in the ocean for fun Walking the dog or a friends dog Frisbee See more

11.01.2022 Wow what a stunning day in Sydney! The body fusion team took to the paths to get bike riding what was their recovery drink mid ride to top up on some energy + caffeine... ?? (this helped with the hills home!) iced coffee + Cooling, refreshing and absolutely necessary. Plus, milk is more than 80 percent water so this helped us hydrate hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!

10.01.2022 Need a recipe for the wild and windy weekend? On the blog Aimee has a slow cooked chicken recipe which is juicy and delicious Check it out on our website. Link in our Bio on LINKTREE as well... Have a beautiful weekend @antique_nutrition

10.01.2022 Tofu. A plant protein that can be deliciously added as a protein to a meal as an alternative to meat Yes it’s soy protein! Which in a fact is anti-inflammatory and contains phytoestrogens to support a healthy heart It’s also very cheap! Don’t be shy, at least 170g is a serving. I like to often mix it up with chickpeas added in a home made Buddha bowl #yummm

10.01.2022 Like to exercise? Athlete or not, eating a healthy balanced meal after exercise means you are making the most your anabolic hormones (hormones that lay down muscle mass and repair). Seeing as many of us exercise in the morning before breakfast or in the evening before dinner, we have included some options to help you achieve glycogen (carb) replenishment & protein requirements (0.4g/kg) post training. Adding some bright coloured vege/fruit and healthy fats will further dimmer inflammation and muscle damage

09.01.2022 Rainy days call for new challenges and adventures! cheers to the new northern beaches rock climbing crew when was the last time you tried something new?? @kiwijonoross @carlosdagos @longreefmusic

09.01.2022 Teamwork makes the dream work forever grateful for this girls contribution to Body Fusion. She’s gone through such incredible growth over the past 2.5 years. 09.01.2022 Welcome to Friday. Time for a relaxing wave nothing that the ocean cannot renew

07.01.2022 All ready for a healthy corporate lunch power half hour! Had them request a desert this time so decided to use an easy apple crumble recipe and add some rhubarb. Any fruit or vegetable which is purple is anti-inflammatory The benefit of this session today is that I get to inspire others to eat well for their health and families whilst also eating my own creations extremely grateful for these opportunities. Ash

07.01.2022 Welcome to Monday. Apply this for a healthier approach to your lifestyle

07.01.2022 Stay present. Its so hard, but so worth it happy Monday

06.01.2022 Lets talk dumpings. I dumplings. Great thing is when they are steamed they are healthier than anything deep fried in palm oil. Remember 2 dumplings only contain 2-4g protein per serve (veggie likely less especially if no lentils/legumes in them) & are about 80 calories of energy. What does this mean? Likely 12 dumplings is enough energy for a meal (500 cals) with 25g or more protein (again less if vegetable based). But then youre missing some veggies! So its optimal to include some salad or edamame or other veggie sides. Also.. Sometimes I (or you, Im not pointing fingers) could really eat a lot more dumplings than 12 so you might need to think about that or that if you choose the biggest dumplings you could ever find that also might impact the nutrition makeup
