24.01.2022 And it’s LIVE!!! What a productive week we are having ! This new website has been on the list to do for a LONG time ! There is always something in the list to do when you run and work in a small business isn’t there!??... We are super happy with how the new website has come out and a big thank you to Willie for helping us . We have recently made available BOOK ONLINE and we are getting great feedback about this . There is a glitch with booking with Megan atm but one step at a time and we will get this fixed!

We would like to welcome travellers, some of which have been stuck in cities and haven’t had the natural beauty we appreciate everyday . Locals we need to smile and have the ability to hold our own space. We are used to lots of space! Be patient and understanding. 21.01.2022 As 2020 comes to a close and we think of the year that has been with all its challenges... We also look towards the coming year with a gentle, sideways glance, edging in slowly and carefully, a lot of us with a lot of trepidation, understandably! Over all BodyIQ has remained steady, quietly navigating the altered terrain and adapting like most businesses have had to do. We would like to thank our local community for its ongoing support you guys rock! We couldn’t have done it ...without you! 2020 saw the clinic adopting two new great additions to our team: Megan Thomas, physiotherapist and exercise physiologist moved back into town after working and running clinics in Sydney and Cairns. She has a wealth of experience in all aspects of physio including injury treatment and rehabilitation, women’s health, paediatric disability and Pilates. It has been a joy to have her experience available to our community of Port Macquarie. And Charles joined us in administration. Thank god for Charles! Shannon and Anthony managed to travel to QLD to attend a course on the vestibular system for the treatment of the dizzy patient which was very thorough and comprehensive. 2020 has had a lot of changes to the Rehabilitation Pilates programs. Even with a dividing curtain at some stage! We are happy to offer MORE classes in 2021 and we look forwards to adding to our already well equipped Pilates equipment with more reformers. Did you know Shannon Hilkemeijer @madebyshannonhil is also a watercolour artist? 2020 saw Shannon start selling her watercolour artwork as cards and art tea towels at @lillirose_design and @bookfacestores. She gets a lot of creative enjoyment out of this work. We are having a little break from work atm so we are recharged for the new year ahead. 19.01.2022 Some of you have been missing our old 15.5 year old girl ‘Summer’, the original therapy dog. I think we started the trend for osteo/ physio clinics to have a friendly head to pat! Summer isn’t at the clinic anymore, having retired , but she was a very popular girl here at BodyIQhealth, and especially back in Faraday House Health Carlton Melbourne, where a lot of people couldn’t have a dog- being inner city , and they missed it. Summer was always very gentle and woul...d alway approach carefully with a gentle tail wag to make people feel safe and secure with her . The kids loved her and I would often encourage a shy child into my room by bringing her in with us. I have found a therapy dog can be a calming and soothing influence over people. 18.01.2022 A healthy diet is so important for a healthy body. At BodyIQ we stock practitioner brand supplements that are easily absorbed by the body. For example, did you know that not everyone can absorb the chemical form of folate? I’m one of those, as I have the gene MTHFR which means no matter how much folate I take in a tablet I just will not absorb it and it will become toxic to my body . I need to take the activated form called follinic acid . I wish I had know that during my first two pregnancies ! Knowledge is power people

I realised that while I’m the narrator for this little social page and owner and practitioner at @BodyIQhealth I don’t often post photos of myself. We recently had (I mean had!) to update our website (check it out and book online at www.bodyiq.net.au) and this meant photos taken by us in the clinic between patients and with patients. ... I hope you can see how much I love my job?! I’m so fortunate to have been in a profession for over 18 years and seen over 20,000 patients and STILL love my job! Why? Because I find it so rewarding to take someone in pain and walk them through healing. For some people relief happens very quickly, for others it is a gradual process, but I’m the eternal optimist so I think all problems can be fixed with the Right techniques. 09.01.2022 The clinic is closed this week for the first week of school holidays. We are enjoying some time off and the clinic is benefiting from some renovations. Anthony has been busy laying the third treatment rooms floor boards and it looks great! We received our new stationary exercise bike for cardio work in the studio yesterday whoohoo! . It will also be a useful addition for our rehabilitation programs . It’s currently still in it’s box but will be unpacked today. We ...are awaiting delivery of our new Athlegen treatment table this week as well . It has been hand made in Bendigo VIC and we can’t wait! 04.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. A special shout out to Anthony- we love you! He provides such a grounding energy for our family and seems to have a never ending supply of energy! I don’t know how he manages; but he not only spreads his time with our kids but he also takes Joey scouts every week, nippers and surf lifesaving in summer teaching life skills to other kids as well. What a guy, what a dad!

03.01.2022 Continuing our ‘put a face to a name’, meet Charles. Charles is our newest receptionist and practice manager. Interesting fact about Charles: He has worked in medical receptionist jobs for over 15 years AND he has also moved up from Melbourne AND he used to work in a medical clinic one suburb away from us in inner city Melbourne. We love it that he still rides a push bike everywhere, but now he doesn’t have to worry about tram tracks and getting his tyre stuck in them ! ...
