25.01.2022 How do you know if you truly value yourself? It’s the little things being amused by other’s toxic behaviour because it doesn’t affect you any more setting clear boundaries with others so that your time is your own... making your own decisions rather than just falling in with everyone else And these little things add up to a lot. Self-worth, a positive attitude and a sparkle in your eye. This is what I’ve been so grateful to witness in my client, H, who joined my group program last month. In just 31 days she’s become calmer, more positive and stronger. I have 3 spots available if you’d like to join H. It’s 3 months of self-worth training and if you join us, by 2021 you’ll truly value yourself too. Check out the link in the comments See more

25.01.2022 Journaling is probably the most healing tool you’re NOT using. I know, I know. You’re busy. You don’t know what to write. Your penpersonship is worse than your GPs. I’ve heard all the excuses. ... But could you give yourself 5 minutes at night to write down 3 things you’re grateful for? It’s simply life changing. Instructions are . Pop a in the comments if you’re going to give it a whirl. See more

23.01.2022 I know this might not look like much but this month this simple tool saved me. August has been full on with health challenges, financial woes and big mental health problems. But (almost) every night I wrote down what I’m grateful for and added a little sticker to my @passionplanner and it reminded me of everything I have and all I’ve overcome. ... If you’ve never tried it, I’d recommend getting started today! Put a in the comments if you’d like some tips to get started. #gratitude #journal #stickers See more

17.01.2022 I’ll be honest I still find myself (sometimes multiple times a day) thinking something along the lines of Yuck Emma, your tummy is tooooooo big, but instead of going down a rabbit hole of thoughts like, You are disgusting and lazy, you should go on a diet, you need to give up all your favourite things, you are not worthy etc. etc. I catch myself and say, Poor tummy has been through so much. Multiple surgeries and a heck of a lot of hate. I’m post menopausal so my hormones have changed. And I am just doing the best I can. Love you tummy. You’re the best! and then I just get on with my day. I gotta tell you, my days are WAY more productive than they used to be and that’s what I want for you too.

17.01.2022 A whirlwind. Life since March. And it continues. Apparently my thyroid is in normal ranges - yay! My finances are a bit f*cked - boo! I’m surrounded by support - woo hoo!... Life is a whirlwind. I’m so glad I’ve spent the last few years learning to love and accept myself no matter what. It’s never too late to learn. Are you ready? Always remember, you are just as worthy as anyone else.

17.01.2022 I’m a raging feminist. There I said it. What does that have to do with self-love & self-care? The short answer is lots. ... The long answer is: the patriarchy is responsible for women not feeling good enough. We are seen through the hetro male gaze. We are supposed to look beautiful at all times while being amazing mothers, housekeepers and contributing financially to the household. It’s a lot. And the massively long to-do list results in women feeling guilty if they dare to take time out for themselves. I say, don’t feel guilty. Feel worthy. You are entitled to spend your time in ANY way you see fit. It’s your life so you get to make the decisions. Drop a in the comments if you’re team feminist too.

14.01.2022 It’s been a while since I released a new podcast episode. But when I got the chance to interview my mentor, Leonie Dawson, I knew it was time to release a new episode. In the first few minutes of the show Leonie tells us about growing up with a brother with cerebral palsy and many older women and how that shaped her attitude of complete love and acceptance of her body. ... She also breaks down how the patriarchy, capitalism and white supremacy takes us into the unnatural territory of body hate. And she reminds us that the whole point of life is to enjoy the f*ck out of it! (All this in the first 7 minutes of the show!) It was really a dream come true to interview Leonie, so please enjoy the show. Link to listen is in the comments See more

14.01.2022 It’s been a big year hasn’t it? I’ve had so much practice with little and big crises this year and I keep learning from each one, so at this point I’m like, Bring it on!! Changing my attitude from worry about the next crisis to wondering what I’ll learn from it has been game-changing. ... Have you noticed that too? See more

08.01.2022 Compassion literally means to suffer together but in reality it means to feel something for someone’s suffering and want to help. It’s an important value here at Body Love HQ. Plus there are physical, body loving reasons to feel compassion - it lowers the heart rate and releases the feel good hormone, oxytocin. ... Have you felt compassion toward yourself lately?

08.01.2022 This week I interviewed on of my all-time favourite mentors, Leonie Dawson. If you need a 15-second piece of life advice today, check this out Full podcast episode coming next week. And it’s full of truth bombs like this one.

07.01.2022 3 reasons I love Barney 1 he’s super cute 2 he’s very obedient 3 he puts up with my embarrassing baby voice... Why do you love your fur baby?

06.01.2022 This will be amazing! Body Love Academy graduate Inspired with Peggy Quarmby has created a wonderful workshop combining craft & affirmations. If you’re in Albany, why wouldn’t you go?

05.01.2022 A few weeks ago I interviewed this epic woman about her self-love practices. She is a big deal! If you haven’t listened yet, you can here:... http://bodylovehq.com/the-body-love-show-leonie-dawson-tal/

03.01.2022 It would be an understatement to say that I’m EXCITED that boxing is back! Now that the days are longer and warmer and covid isn’t a huge threat to us in WA (as long as we continue to do the right things!), I felt like it’s time to head back to Emu Point and punch things. Because it feels so good, right?!... We start again after the school holidays. Bookings are essential and you can do that here: Bodylovehq.com/term-4-classes-2020 P.S. yoga is also back and you get a discount if you book both.

03.01.2022 Just a little reminder.

03.01.2022 Let me be an example to you about why you CAN make it to yoga and/or boxing next term: 1. I’m 47. I’m menopausal. I’m not thin. I’m not fit right now. All I’ve done for the last few months is walk my dog a few times a week. And he’s a slow walker! So, if you’re worried about being older, not feeling fit or that your body is too large, try to let that go. You’ll be just like the teacher! ... 2. I’m in the process of moving house. I manage a health food shop. I baby sit my niece once a week. I’m in the process of rebranding my business. I’m managing some mental & physical health issues. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m busy. Just like you! I am prioritising 2 hours a week to move my body. (And teach you guys of course...) It’s important. You’re important. And you’re worthy of one or 2 hours for you. Classes start week 2 of term 4. I’d LOVE to see you there. Book here: bodylovehq.com/term-4-classes-2020

01.01.2022 I want to see more kindness in the world. I truly believe it would change everything. But it has to start with you. We aren’t trained to be kind to ourselves. We’re taught to look at everything that is wrong with ourselves and then fix it. ... So if kindness to yourself feels unnatural, here are some tips... you know that thing you’ve been beating yourself up for today? What if your best friend came to you with the same thing. Would you say to her what you’re saying to yourself right now? Nope. So try speaking to yourself as you would to your best friend. what if you remembered that you are always doing your best? Sometimes you have the energy and confidence to just push through and keep going. Sometimes you just can’t do any more. And that’s okay. Tell me in the comments how do you show yourself kindness?
