24.01.2022 In these colder months, many people complain their arthritis plays up. This article is a nice light read on a possible explanation as to why this happens. In my experience, warmth, movement, exercise, healthy lifestyle, and some local physio treatment can help those suffering with arthritis manage better. https://www.abc.net.au//does-cold-weather-make-ar/8680912|abc_health_newsletter|125&utm_content=story_3_more&fbclid=IwAR25LxLxIaR-ojOYrI4jVA7qkLNSP6Abup2BBZp5UsaoGWYJo7VPS7QCh2w

22.01.2022 Hi, I'm Matt, the physio at Body Matters Physio. Comment below or message me if you have any physio related questions I can help you with.

22.01.2022 Hi, I'm Matt, the physio at Body Matters Physio. I graduated as a physio in 2005 and have worked in private practice clinics since then. My special area of interest is how the body works as a whole unit, and how we can treat the whole body to give the best results for managing pain and dysfunction.... I treat with long consultations to allow for this whole-body approach, and love seeing great results! I primarily treat with a treatment method called Strain Counterstrain. It's gently but the main reason I love it is it works better than anything else I've learned or seen as a physio. (check out this link if you want to read more about it https://www.bodymattersphysio.com.au/treatment.html)

21.01.2022 We love hearing Good-News stories from our clients, it's what gets us going each day. Reviews like this bring a smile to our face! "I was in constant pain though my lower back and leg and unable to sit down for even an hour at a time. After seeing a number of other physios/chiros, I went to see Matt who made a significant difference after a single visit! After three visits I was able to sit for a complete day at work and after a few more I was able to drive 12 hours without i...ssue. I strongly recommend Matt and I cant thank him enough." See more

19.01.2022 Happy Valentines Day to my awesome wife, pulling a lot of strings behind the scenes to keep Body Matters Physio running smoothly and keeping matt in a good mood!

17.01.2022 Word of mouth means so much to us, it means we are doing a good job, and helps us grow without the big advertising budgets of the big physio places. To say "THANKYOU" for your referrals, if you send us a new client in July we would love to show our appreciation with a $20 voucher to another great local business Hawker Street Cafe, enjoy brekky or a few coffees with our thanks. (just get them to mention that you sent them)

17.01.2022 Pay us a visit for high quality, hands on personalised treatment. We offer hour long sessions with an experienced, specialised physiotherapist. Give your body the treatment you deserve.

17.01.2022 Were all busting at the seams with excitement for the return to sport and gym! Remember that our bodies often need some time to get used to restarting activities, so progress gradually back into it, have a good warm up, and dont push your limits just yet. Re-conditioning your body for sport and gym can take a while and cant be rushed.... If youre needing a little help to get the body back into it, or youre unlucky enough to get injured, good quality, hands-on treatment can make a big difference. Were here to help!

16.01.2022 Dry Needling: Using the same needles as Acupuncture, but in a different way. Dry Needling is often equated to a "Western Acupuncture"- but is not the Chinese Medicine. It differs in the mechanism of effect and the technique and placement of needles. Various stresses affect our bodies (trauma, repetitive work, anxiety, arthritis etc) and this can lead to shortened or over-active structures, leading to further issues like strength loss, poor mobility, Myofascial Trigger Point... development and pain. Dry Needling involves the placement of very fine needles into specific areas of your skin, muscle and soft tissues to elicit a reaction in the local tissues, the result of which is pain reduction, improved muscle length, better muscle recruitment, improved relaxation.

15.01.2022 At Body Matters Physio we use a number of hands on techniques to help your body heal faster. One technique we see great results with is Strain Counterstrain. Never heard of it? Here is a bit more about it.

13.01.2022 I was chatting about helping people with knee Arthritis with a client recently, and explained that Arthritis was quite common in even people with no knee pain. It's really only one piece of the puzzle. I found this article that's done the digging for me, but it has reported IN UN-INJURED PEOPLE: 24% occurrence of cartilage defect, and 10% occurrence of Meniscus tears- which escalates to 19% in over 40's! I witness people with internal knee injuries improve with the right treatment, exercise and time. Try some treatment before considering operations!

09.01.2022 Hi guys, I want to share and recommend this page, who also has an e-book and physical book for purchase that is written by an awesome Australian child development specialist physiotherapist. Great reviews and results from this resource. https://www.facebook.com/mystronglittlebody/?tn-str=k*F

09.01.2022 What does your body need from your physio? You will get a quick whole body screening examination to work out a snapshot of the issues your body has, these issues may have led you to experiencing pain- pain in one area can often benefit from effective treatment of something away from your pain site, which allows your body to function better and heal like it is wanting to do. Sometimes an issue is much more local to where you feel pain or stiffness.... Assessment considers any less than ideal postures, movement range and quality of your spine and limbs, strength, muscle recruitment patterns and bio-mechanical imbalances within the body and limbs. The physio will then feel with their hands to feel areas of tension, restriction and pain in your muscles, connective tissue (fascia), ligaments and joints in your body and limbs. From this examination, priorities are worked out for which areas of the body, and which techniques will give you the biggest improvements, with a focus on helping your current pain or restriction. We can then start treating, confident that the chosen treatments will be the best way to help you.

03.01.2022 Always searching for better ways to manage our health, Matt is an Endorsed Health Coach in the field of Personalised Health "Epigenetics". This utilises research and technology many years in the making. Through a series of measurements and history, a profile of you is worked out through algorithms, which is then used to make personalised health recommendations for you. What types of foods should I eat? What type of exercise is best for me? Should I get up early or late? How s...hould I use my brain? The above are just a few examples of questions we can answer with this technology. Ask Matt for more details if you're looking for something more than the old "eat well and exercise" comment.
