24.01.2022 And the Winners for the Term 3 COVID ISO Fitness Challenge are: 1st Place - Kerryn Fletcher 2nd Place - Jess Crichton Well done to both of you for the results you have achieved over the 10 week term. Your dedication, motivation and commitment has certainly paid off! ... Kerryn dropped around 3kgs over the term, however her body composition measurements dropped by 14 cms across chest, waist and hips, which goes to show, it's not just about the number on the scales! Plus her fitness test results week after week showed significant improvements in strength, speed and endurance with her most significant achievement being reducing her 1km time trial run by a minute and smashing the situp bleep test! Amazing effort Kerryn - keep it up! Jess also had signficant body compostion changes over the term, dropping 4 kgs in weight and a total of 9cm across chest, waist and hips. Jess has been super diligent in tracking her food this term, ensuring she has the right balance of proteins, carbs and healthy fats to fuel her body while training, and this has certainly paid off! This demonstrates the importance of nutrition which will be the focus for Term 4 - as the saying goes "You can't out-exercise a bad diet!" Well done Jess - you should be super proud of yourself. A cool prize pack is coming both their way! Don't forget, Term 4 starts Monday 5th October. Get in early so you can psych yourself up for an awesome term as we head towards Summer and hopefully out of ISO!! All of us, at any moment in time, no matter how diabolical you may think your circumstances may be, are capable of turning this around. You just have to have faith and belief in yourself, and add a bit of hard work, dedication and determination.... So keep your dreams alive anything is possible you just have to put your mind to making it happen! And today's daily challenge 10000 steps or 1:45min of moderate intensity walking - perfect day to clock up those steps on this glorious day. 11.01.2022 Today's Daily Mantra I have purpose Having purpose means finding your WHY or something that you can work towards. This is especially important when you feel like a lot has been taken away from you. So, it’s a bit like setting goals, but at a higher level. It’s the reason you still get up every morning despite your circumstances or your stress. It’s what can help to guide your life decisions, influence your behaviour, determine your goals, or provide you with a sense of direct...ion. So today, take some time to really reflect on your purpose, or what things you have been meaning to get around to doing but never had the time, or what accomplishments are going to add that extra spring to your step. It may be learning to paint, or completing a short course, or doing some volunteer work when COVID is all over, or really changing your eating habits for the long-term, or building a gate whatever floats your boat! At other times we might make huge steps forward in leaps and bounds, or baby steps. ... Life is all about these ups and downs, peaks and troughs. So, we need to celebrate every little bit of progress, accomplishment or achievement, and pat yourself on the back every step of the way, whether that be big or small. So today, think about what small steps forward you might have made with something and celebrate this! Or if there’s something you’re working towards, don’t be too impatient to get to the end sometimes small steps are great steps!
