15.01.2022 Our boy Mark has been busy working away on his VL Commodore! Hes wrapped the external bodywork in an awesome blue vinyl. The engine bay is painted in a colour which we supplied to be complimentary to the vinyl colour and the paint for the waist bands and front and rear bars, which we also supplied, is GMH MX grey matched to the factory level of satin. Cant wait to see this thing hit the roads soon!

11.01.2022 Were closed today for the Queens Birthday long weekend and well be back tomorrow from 8:30! But now for a history lesson! What youre seeing here is a 1958 Auto Union 1000.... Auto Union was an amalgamation of German car manufacturers which included DKW, Horch, Audi and Wanderer. They eventually were bought out by Daimler-Benz and later on, they were sold off to Volkswagen AG. Nowadays Auto Union is owned by Audi; the 4 rings of its logo are representative of the 4 companies that formed Auto Union. This car here in particular is the Auto Union 1000, also known as the DKW 3=6 / Sonderklasse. The only difference between this and the DKW is that the 1000 had a 981cc, two stroke 3 cylinder! Such a cool piece of West German automotive history! Weve said it before- the variety of cars that come through this place is outstanding!

We spent a lot of time with Rod to choose a colour that would work perfectly on the Lotus bodywork. It looks absolutely amazing, especially in the sunlight! 06.01.2022 78 VB Commodore SL. Maranello Red with a warm 253 V8 under the bonnet. For a quick history lesson- The VB was the first generation of the Commodore. It was loosely based on the Opel Rekord E with the front end of an Opel Senator thrown on the front to make way for the Holden six cylinder and V8 motors. It looked very similar to the Vauxhall Viceroy. ... The colour is a factory Ford USA colour called Merlot. This Merc also has a 3 roof chop and airbag suspension AND the whole car was built in a single-car garage!... Amazing work Ben!

The chassis, underbody areas and engine bay all coated with Valspar Automotive Industrial TB543 satin black which has also been tinted to match the factory Torana underbody/engine bay colour. ... The industrial range of enamels is available in a quick dry and 2-pack direct to metal. They are also available in satin, matte and full gloss as well! Dont think that the industrial range of products is strictly for industrial equipment- theyre the best choice for car restoration jobs as well!
