MRI scans have indicated increased activity in the prefrontal cortex, an area involved in decision making, attentiveness and self-control. Ways to cultivate gratitude include 1. taking a moment to consciously thank someone and name their attributes. 2. Write a thank you note - you dont even have to send/give it! 3. 12.01.2022 I wasnt always able to express myself easily. Growing up I kept everything in, too scared to be honest, not knowing how to express my thoughts and feelings, too worried about people would react, didnt want to rock the boat. All this did was create a lot of anxiety - I felt frozen in fear most of the time. It wasnt until I started receiving help in my mid 20s and found supportive people to be with, that I started to realize how freeing it is to express yourself fully. Learning to articulate whats going on inside was a major turning point and my anxiety began melting away. Its been an amazing journey and incredibly fulfilling. Having personally experienced crippling anxiety in the past, so strong that I couldnt breathe or move, I get that its a challenge to deal with. However, know this - you can learn to move beyond it. Learning to slow down and be present with the uncomfortable emotions help set me free from it.
