24.01.2022 It’s that time of year again when we spend time with family and friends and enjoy a bit of festive cheer. While you enjoy the precious moments with friends and ...family that this season brings, please don’t be complacent. Please be safe and sensible at home, on the roads and at work, because unfortunately, at this time each year, firefighters find themselves very busy. All too often, the holidays can result in physical, financial and emotional disaster. Over-enthusiastic decorating can see electrical circuits overloaded, which can cause devastating house fires. Candles placed too close to Christmas cards and trees can lead to shattered festive dreams. Cooking left for too long in the oven or on the barbecue can create havoc. Rushing to get to a destination can result in serious car accidents. Please take care, use your common sense and don’t rush. Throughout the festive period and every day beyond, Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters will be on duty across NSW ready to respond to fires and other emergencies, as will our colleagues in the NSW Police Force and NSW Ambulance. On Saturday 20 May 10AM - 2PM, we’re throwing open the fire station doors just for you. Watch firefighting demonstrations, climb aboard a fire truck, find out about fire safety and meet the firefighters who make it all happen. Come along and bring the family!

Don't forget to catch Santa in the big red truck this evening between 5 and 8 he'll be stopping to give out lollies to the kids. Parents should accompany the children and be mindful of any traffic on the road.
